Omoda X Makes Global Debut at 2026 International User Summit
The 2027 Omoda X has made its global debut during the 2026 International User Summit, where Omoda Jaecoo introduced its latest crossover at a dedicated Omoda X Night event on October 20.
Positioned below the Omoda 9, the new model combines SUV practicality with design references drawn from off-road vehicles and sports cars.
Wide Body Design Inspired by Mecha Culture
The Omoda X follows a design direction influenced by futuristic mecha culture, with broad shoulders, a sculpted waistline and a wide-body stance.
Its exterior measures 4,650 mm long, 1,910 mm wide and 1,720 mm tall.
The combination of pronounced body surfaces and a sporting silhouette creates a different visual character from a conventional family SUV.
Omoda has not disclosed the wheelbase or detailed aerodynamic measurements.
All Terrain Tyres and Over 700 mm Wading Depth
The Omoda X rides on 19-inch alloy wheels fitted with all-terrain tyres, supporting its more adventure-oriented positioning.
Ground clearance measures 200 mm, while the stated wading depth exceeds 700 mm.
The crossover also offers a towing capacity of up to 1,800 kg and a roof load rating of 75 kg.
For smaller equipment and everyday belongings, Omoda has incorporated 39 storage spaces throughout the vehicle.
Mecha Command Cockpit With Twin Digital Displays
Inside, the Omoda X introduces what the company calls the Mecha Command Cockpit.
A twin-wing dashboard arrangement surrounds an X-shaped floating centre console, continuing the geometric styling theme.
The driver receives a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, while a 13.2-inch central touchscreen handles infotainment functions.
Physical controls remain for frequently used features, including climate settings and driving modes.
Passenger capacity, seating configurations and luggage compartment measurements have not been specified in the announcement.
Electric and Plug In Hybrid Powertrains Confirmed
Omoda has confirmed two electrified powertrain choices for the X: a fully electric version and a plug-in hybrid.
Both two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations are planned.
The exclusive X-MODE function allows drivers to adjust vehicle settings and performance response according to their preferences.
However, battery capacities, power outputs, electric driving range and acceleration figures have not yet been disclosed.
Infrared Night Vision and Market Availability
One of the Omoda X's principal technology features is an infrared thermal-imaging night vision system.
The technology is described as a first for Omoda Jaecoo and can help identify potential hazards at distances of up to 90 metres during nighttime driving.
Despite its global unveiling, the Omoda X has not yet been confirmed for Australia.
Regional specifications, pricing and delivery schedules will be announced separately.
