2027 Nissan TEKTON Arrives With Patrol Inspired Character
The 2027 Nissan TEKTON has made its world premiere in India, becoming a key part of Nissan's renewed push in one of the world's fastest-growing SUV markets. Developed under the company's "One Car, One World" philosophy, the new C-segment SUV will be built in Chennai for both domestic buyers and export markets. It's also the second model introduced as part of Nissan's latest product offensive in India.
Exterior borrows cues from the legendary Patrol
At first glance, the TEKTON doesn't try to hide its inspiration. Nissan says its flagship C-SUV draws heavily from the Patrol, and that influence shows in the upright stance, broad grille and strong shoulder lines. Slim C-shaped LED headlamps connect across the front, while muscular wheel arches, flush roof rails and sculpted bodywork give it a more substantial presence than many rivals in the segment. Around the back, connected LED taillights and a piano black trim piece complete a clean but distinctive design.
A spacious cabin with everyday comfort in mind
Inside, Nissan has focused on creating a cabin that feels both premium and practical. The tri-tone interior combines leatherette upholstery with soft-touch materials, bespoke stitching and rose gold accents. A pair of driver-focused digital displays sits behind a D-cut steering wheel, while the elevated centre console houses Nissan's Fly-by-Wire electronic shifter.
Comfort also appears to be a priority. Powered, ventilated front seats with lumbar adjustment, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting with 48 colour options and an Arkamys 3D surround sound system are among the available features.
Turbocharged engines headline the lineup
Unlike many competitors that mix naturally aspirated and turbocharged options, the TEKTON range is entirely turbocharged. Buyers can choose between the Turbo T160 and Turbo T280 engines. The more powerful T280 produces up to 163 PS and 280 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed wet-clutch dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual gearbox. Nissan also equips both engines with GT-R-derived Mirror Bore Coating technology to reduce friction and improve efficiency.
Dual Drive Mode, adjustable steering effort and a suspension setup featuring tuned dampers and dual anti-roll bars are intended to deliver confident road manners across city streets and highways alike.
Built for families and connected lifestyles
Practicality is another highlight of the new TEKTON. Nissan quotes up to 700 litres of boot space, 212 mm of ground clearance and strong approach and departure angles, making the SUV suitable for both family duties and occasional rough roads.
Technology is equally comprehensive. Google built-in gives access to Google Maps, Google Assistant and more than 200 downloadable apps, while the MyNISSAN app adds over 55 connected vehicle functions. Safety equipment includes six airbags as standard, a high-strength steel body structure and more than 17 advanced driver assistance features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking and Lane Keep Assist.
