2027 Nissan Sentra Midnight Edition
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 20, 2026
Pricing for the 2027 Sentra lineup starts at $22,890 for the S grade and tops out at $27,990 for the SL, plus a $1,245 destination fee.
A new Midnight Edition package adds for $650 on SR grade, bringing black badging, black window trim, 18-inch black alloy wheels and a Super Black two-tone roof.
Nissan retuned the Xtronic CVT for 2027, and an available Qi2 wireless charger joins the options sheet alongside a 12.3-inch touchscreen and standard wireless CarPlay and Android Auto.
Pricing Holds Steady Across a Familiar Lineup
Nissan is keeping the 2027 Sentra's structure mostly unchanged, with four grades running from S at $22,890 up to SL at $27,990, before a $1,245 destination charge. That puts the update squarely in refresh territory rather than redesign — the news here is a new appearance package and some mechanical fine-tuning, not a new body or platform.
Midnight Edition Leans Into Black Trim
The headline addition is the Midnight Edition package, a $650 option available on SR grade. It swaps in a Midnight Edition badge, black window opening trim, 18-inch black alloy wheels and a Super Black two-tone roof over the SR's existing equipment. Nissan describes the underlying shape as having a confident posture and sleek surfacing, though the press material doesn't go into specific exterior dimensions or proportions beyond that framing.
Cabin Tech Carries Over, With One New Option
Inside, the Sentra keeps its dual 12.3-inch display setup, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and capacitive-touch HVAC controls that Nissan positions as a segment-first. New for 2027 is an available Qi2 wireless device charger, which Nissan says charges more consistently and works with a wider range of phones than the outgoing Qi setup. Front and rear Zero Gravity seats, three USB-C ports and an available eight-speaker Bose audio system round out the cabin, and Nissan points to a spot on the 2026 Wards 10 Best Interiors & UX list as evidence the layout is resonating with reviewers.
A Smoother CVT, Not a New Engine
Nissan didn't touch the Sentra's powertrain lineup for 2027, instead focusing engineering effort on retuning the Xtronic CVT for what the company describes as smoother, more linear acceleration and crisper throttle response. Fuel economy lands at up to 30 mpg city, 38 mpg highway and 33 mpg combined on S, SV and SL grades, with SR grades slightly lower at 29/36/32 mpg.
Safety Equipment Stays Class-Competitive
Every 2027 Sentra carries Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Prevention, High Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition and standard Intelligent Cruise Control. Nissan also highlights a class-exclusive Intelligent Forward Collision Warning system and an available Intelligent Around View Monitor for parking, backing up the Sentra's 2026 IIHS Top Safety Pick+ rating.
