Nissan's New Chapter in India
The all-new 2027 Nissan Gravite, a seven-seater multipurpose car, was unveiled by Nissan Motor India and marks a new push in the Indian market. The Gravite, which is made locally in Chennai, is priced at INR 5.65 lakhs, making it affordable for families looking for space and functionality.
According to Nissan, the 1.4 billion Indians and their varied backgrounds served as inspiration for the model, which was specifically designed for India. It enters a lineup that continues to expand, alongside the Magnite and upcoming C-SUV offerings scheduled through 2027.
Under deadline scrutiny, this is less about spectacle and more about substance. The Gravite is intended to carry families, luggage and expectation in equal measure.
Design and Road Presence
The 2027 Nissan Gravite adopts a design language consistent with Nissan’s global identity, but with proportions tailored for Indian roads. Elevated stance, muscular body lines and pronounced wheel arches contribute to a confident posture, while high ground clearance addresses varied driving conditions.
At the front, a piano black grille sits between signature C-shaped design elements and LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. LED taillamps, roof rails and wide-opening doors underline the car’s practical brief.
The silhouette leans toward a compact C-SUV presence rather than a traditional MPV box. It feels deliberate. The stance is upright, but not heavy.
Interior Flexibility and Cabin Comfort
Inside, the Gravite is configured to accommodate up to seven occupants with flexible seating arrangements. The third-row seats are removable, expanding luggage capacity to 625 litres when required. For growing families or weekend travel, that adaptability matters.
Cabin roominess and thoughtful interior packaging are paired with an air-conditioning system engineered for tropical climates. Ample storage solutions throughout the cabin reinforce the vehicle’s day-to-day usability.
Instead of being decorative, the design theme serves a practical purpose. It demonstrates that practicality is more important than ornamentation.
Technology and Safety Suite
With wireless Apple CarPlayTM and Android AutoTM compatibility, the main technological integration component is a floating 20.3 cm infotainment panel.
A 17.7 cm full digital advanced multi-functional cluster provides essential driving information in a clean format. Wireless device charging and front and rear parking sensors round out the convenience features.
Safety is emphasized with more than 30 standard features. Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist System and ABS with EBD form part of the core safety architecture.
Powertrain and Market Position
Power comes from a 1.0-litre petrol engine delivering 72PS at 6,250 rpm and 96Nm of peak torque between 3,400 and 3,600 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed EZ-shift automated manual transmission. According to Nissan, the configuration is adjusted for predictable behavior and seamless performance in both urban and rural settings.
Additionally, a limited-edition Launch Edition with distinctive styling, high-end audio, and improved interior components will be available.
