Updated Proportions and a Sharper Visual Identity
The GLB 250 Plus EQ X247 builds on Mercedes-Benz’s compact SUV footprint with a 60-mm wheelbase extension and broader stance. The upright front, short overhangs and wide track remain core to the silhouette, but the new illuminated grille featuring 94 chrome-look stars gives the vehicle its most distinctive signature yet. Full-LED headlamps linked by a light band, flush wheels up to 20 inches and cleaner surfacing contribute to a more confident overall presence. The panoramic roof—standard on this generation—adds vertical openness from the inside.
Electric Performance with Long-Distance Capability
The GLB 250 Plus EQ uses the new 200 kW Electric Drive Unit with a two-speed transmission on the rear axle. Efficiency is a focal point: Mercedes cites battery-to-wheel efficiency of 93 percent, aided by a redesigned motor layout and hairpin stator windings. Range is listed at 542–631 km WLTP, and the 85 kWh battery supports 320 kW DC charging, allowing up to 260 km of range added in 10 minutes under ISO/SAE 12906 conditions. AC charging up to 22 kW is available.
Interior Space and Everyday Practicality
The longer wheelbase and revised roofline result in noticeable gains in second-row legroom and front and rear headroom. Seating comfort is improved through recontoured cushions and longer thigh support. Cargo flexibility is a key theme: the front boot offers 127 litres (per ISO 3832), the largest among Mercedes compact EVs, while the rear holds up to 540 litres in five-seat configuration. Seven-seat variants remain available, with easier access to the third row and improved seating geometry.
New Digital Platform and High-Tech Cabin
The GLB transitions fully to MB.OS, enabling more frequent over-the-air updates and deeper personalisation. The optional MBUX Superscreen stretches across the cabin, featuring 10.25-inch and 14-inch displays with real-time Unity-based graphics. The new MBUX Virtual Assistant incorporates generative AI and short-term memory, responding contextually to multi-turn queries. Navigation now runs on Google Maps data with Electric Intelligence route planning.
Segment Positioning
With its long driving range, family-focused packaging and digital upgrades, the GLB 250 Plus EQ X247 positions itself as an all-electric compact SUV aimed at practicality-heavy buyers who still expect premium cabin technology. Its 631-km WLTP capability gives it rare long-distance credentials in this segment, while the optional 4MATIC versions remain suitable for light off-road use thanks to TERRAIN MODE and the Transparent Bonnet function.
