2027 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Estate S206
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 18, 2026
The C-Class Estate's cargo hold measures 490 liters with the rear seats up, expanding to 1,510 liters with the standard 40:20:40 split seats folded, and includes a button-operated EASY-PACK tailgate.
A plug-in hybrid C 400 e 4MATIC Estate is available, combining a turbocharged four-cylinder with an electric motor for up to 290 kW (395 hp) and up to 100 km of WLTP electric range.
Ordering opens 18 August 2026, with German pricing starting at €41,045 excluding VAT (€48,844 including VAT) for the C 200 Saloon; Estate-specific starting pricing isn't broken out in the release.
The Wagon Body Picks Up the Same Facial Work
Mercedes-Benz has run the same design update across the C-Class lineup, and the Estate gets it in full. The radiator grille now carries a stronger vertical emphasis with hot-stamped chrome stars and, for the first time, an LED light guide built into the surround itself. Headlamps pick up a star-shaped daytime running light graphic, and depending on the market, the central grille star can light up too. Bumpers are more heavily sculpted than before, with high-gloss black inserts and chrome accents at the front that Mercedes says emphasize the car's width.
Wagon Proportions With a Longer Roofline
Where the Estate diverges from the saloon is obviously in its rear volume — the extended roofline changes the aerodynamic picture slightly, with Mercedes citing a drag coefficient starting from 0.26 for the Estate versus 0.24 for the saloon body. Wheel choices span 17 to 19 inches, including a new 18-inch design and a pair of 19-inch AMG wheels for buyers wanting a sportier look. Two new paint colors, a lavender silver metallic and a blue-grey "moody sky grey metallic," round out the exterior options.
Interior Tech Shared Across the Lineup
Inside, the Estate uses the same 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.9-inch portrait touchscreen as the saloon. The fourth-generation MBUX system layers in multiple AI models — Mercedes names ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini — and can hold multi-part conversations while retaining short-term context. It handles more than climate and audio requests now, extending to things like stock prices and ski slope conditions, and navigation runs on Google Maps with a Google Cloud AI Agent for conversational searches around charging stations and parking.
A Plug-In Hybrid Estate Option
The C 400 e 4MATIC is available in Estate form alongside the saloon, pairing the updated four-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor for a combined system output of up to 290 kW (395 hp) and 650 Nm. Its 19.53 kWh battery is rated for up to 100 km of WLTP electric range, and the car can charge at up to 11 kW on AC or 55 kW on DC fast chargers — reasonably quick for a plug-in hybrid pack of this size.
Where the Estate Earns Its Practicality
The load compartment holds 490 liters with the seats up, growing to 1,510 liters with the standard 40:20:40 split rear seats folded down individually. A button-operated EASY-PACK tailgate — triggered from the key fob, a driver's door switch, or a handle on the tailgate — plus a two-piece retractable cargo cover and partition net keep the load area practical for daily use.
Positioning Against Rivals
With petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid variants all sharing this update, the C-Class Estate continues to compete against wagon-bodied rivals like the BMW 3 Series Touring and Audi A4/A5 Avant, leaning on its electrified range and AI-driven cabin technology as differentiators.
