2027 Mazda CX-30

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • New Homura Plus and Makoto versions expand the CX-30 range.

  • Smart Brake Support gains motorcycle recognition and improved intersection support.

  • New colors, upgraded cabin materials, and Alexa integration arrive for 2027.

The Mazda CX-30 is heading into 2027 with a familiar look and a list of carefully chosen updates underneath it. Rather than changing the formula that has made the compact SUV one of Mazda's strongest sellers in Europe, the company has focused on areas owners interact with every day, safety systems, interior comfort, connectivity, and trim choice.

First introduced in 2019, the CX-30 sits in the middle of Mazda's SUV lineup and has built a reputation for combining compact dimensions with a cabin that feels larger than its footprint might suggest. For 2027, Mazda says the focus has been on refining those strengths rather than reinventing them.

New Colors Keep The Exterior Fresh

At a glance, the 2027 Mazda CX-30 remains instantly recognizable. The brand's Kodo design language carries over, with only subtle changes made to the overall presentation.

The most visible updates come through the color palette. Aero Grey joins the range immediately, while Zinc Green will become available on vehicles produced from October 2026. Mazda describes the changes as refinements rather than a redesign, and that approach is evident throughout the exterior.

The compact proportions remain unchanged, continuing the balance between urban friendly dimensions and the higher seating position buyers expect from a crossover.

Cabin Updates Focus On Everyday Comfort

Inside, Mazda has introduced a new Makoto special version featuring a light colored interior designed around comfort and modern styling. Buyers looking for a higher specification model will find a new flagship trim called Homura Plus at the top of the range.

Homura Plus adds upgraded lighting, additional comfort equipment, and revised interior finishes. Elsewhere in the cabin, Mazda has updated materials and finishes while introducing extra convenience features. Available seat ventilation and additional interior lighting are among the changes highlighted for the new model year.

Technology also receives attention. The Mazda Connect infotainment system now includes advanced voice recognition, while Alexa integration allows drivers to use voice commands for navigation, communication, and entertainment functions. The MyMazda App continues to provide remote vehicle functions and monitoring features.

Safety Systems Receive The Biggest Changes

The most significant upgrades for 2027 are found in the CX-30's safety package.

Mazda has enhanced its Smart Brake Support system with improved detection capability, including motorcycle recognition and additional support in intersection scenarios. The company says system integration has also been improved.

Adaptive LED Headlights have been updated as well. The revised system is designed to improve visibility while reducing glare for other road users, an area that continues to receive attention across the industry.

Familiar Hybrid Assisted Powertrains Continue

Under the skin, the Mazda CX-30 carries over its existing powertrain lineup. Buyers can choose between the e-Skyactiv G 140 and e-Skyactiv X 186 engines, both paired with Mazda M Hybrid technology.

Front wheel drive and i-Activ AWD configurations remain available depending on specification. Mazda's Skyactiv-Vehicle Architecture and chassis setup also continue unchanged, supporting the driving characteristics that have defined the CX-30 since launch.

For 2027, the story is less about transformation and more about refinement. The updates are modest, but they touch many of the areas owners notice most during daily use.
