2027 Kia EV3 GT-Line US Version

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Up to 320 miles range with long-range 81.4 kWh battery.

  • GT-Line adds AWD, unique design details, and premium interior touches.

  • Panoramic dual 12.3-inch displays with OTA updates and AI assistant.

A smaller EV that carries big car ideas

The 2027 Kia EV3 GT-Line arrives as the more expressive version of Kia’s newest entry electric SUV.

It sits at the lower end of the EV lineup in terms of size, but it doesn’t feel stripped down. A lot of what Kia introduced with the EV9 carries over here, just packaged into something easier to live with day to day.

That’s really the angle. Keep it compact, but don’t scale back the experience too much.

Design keeps it sharp, but not overworked

From the front, the EV3 GT-Line follows Kia’s newer lighting signature.

The “Star Map” daytime running lights frame the fascia, with vertically stacked headlamps emphasizing width. It’s a look that’s become familiar across Kia’s EVs, but here it feels a bit tighter, more contained.

The GT-Line adds its own touches. More distinct wheel designs, darker accents, and a slightly more defined stance. Nothing exaggerated, just enough to separate it from the base trims.

Along the side, the short overhangs and sloping roofline give the car a sense of motion even when it’s stationary. Hidden rear door handles help keep the profile clean.

At the rear, the lighting mirrors the front with the same Star Map theme, tying the whole design together without adding unnecessary detail.

Compact footprint, but space is used well

The EV3 stays true to its compact SUV positioning, but the proportions are handled carefully.

The wheelbase helps open up interior space, and the upright greenhouse improves visibility from inside. It doesn’t feel cramped in the way smaller EVs sometimes do.

Cargo space is one of the more practical areas. There’s up to 56.5 cubic feet available with the rear seats folded, along with 26.1 cubic feet behind the second row. There’s also a small front trunk, which isn’t always guaranteed in this segment.

It’s not oversized, but it’s usable.

Interior leans into simplicity with useful details

Inside, the EV3 GT-Line keeps things clean.

The dashboard is dominated by a wide panoramic display, combining two 12.3-inch screens with a 5-inch climate display in between. It’s a familiar layout now, but it works well here.

The GT-Line adds its own character with a three-spoke steering wheel, metal pedals, and two-tone seating. It’s subtle, but it lifts the cabin slightly compared to the base trims.

The center console is open and flexible, with retractable cupholders and multiple storage areas. It’s one of those details that ends up being more useful over time than it seems at first.

Powertrain balances range and everyday usability

Underneath, the EV3 GT-Line uses Kia’s 400V E-GMP platform.

The long-range 81.4 kWh battery allows for up to a Kia-estimated 320 miles of range in front-wheel-drive form. The same battery also enables all-wheel drive, which is standard on the GT-Line.

Charging is handled through a native NACS port, with fast charging from 10 to 80 percent taking just over 30 minutes depending on battery size.

The setup isn’t about extreme performance. It’s about consistency and usability in daily driving.

Tech sits at the center of the experience

The EV3 GT-Line leans heavily into connected features.

Kia’s ccNC system supports over-the-air updates, while the AI assistant adds a more conversational layer to voice control. Streaming apps, wireless smartphone integration, and customizable displays are all part of the package.

There’s also Vehicle-to-Load and available Vehicle-to-Home functionality, which expands what the car can do beyond driving.

Positioned as an accessible step into EVs

The 2027 Kia EV3 GT-Line sits in a growing space.

It’s aimed at buyers who want an EV that feels complete, without moving into larger, more expensive territory. That’s where it fits. Compact, but not basic.
