2027 Hyundai Palisade Black Ink Goes Dark
Hyundai has found another way to give its largest SUV a different personality. The 2027 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy Black Ink Edition doesn't arrive with dramatic body changes or an all-new platform. Instead, it takes the already upscale Calligraphy trim and gives it a darker, more understated appearance.
It's the sort of package that's easy to understand at first glance. Chrome gives way to black finishes, bright accents disappear, and the Palisade takes on a cleaner, more purposeful look. Buyers who have wanted a premium three-row SUV without the usual mix of polished metal trim may find this version particularly appealing.
A Cleaner, More Purposeful Exterior
The biggest difference is in the details.
Hyundai has replaced many of the exterior brightwork pieces with gloss black, satin black and dark chrome finishes. Up front, the familiar grille now features black accents, joined by a black Hyundai emblem, gloss-black windshield trim, a dark lower grille and a satin-black lower bumper treatment. Together, they give the nose a noticeably sharper appearance without changing the basic shape of the Palisade.
The dark theme continues down the sides. Gloss-black window surrounds, roof rails, D-pillar trim and alloy wheels create a consistent look from front to rear, while satin-black lower door trim helps tie everything together. At the back, Hyundai finishes the rear badge, bumper trim and skid cover in matching black treatments, making the SUV look more cohesive than before.
The Black Ink package can be ordered with Abyss Black Pearl, Ecotronic Gray Pearl or Creamy White Pearl paint, each paired with the same collection of dark exterior accents.
The Cabin Follows the Same Theme
Step inside and the idea becomes even clearer.
Rather than redesigning the dashboard, Hyundai has replaced many of the silver accent pieces found in the standard Calligraphy model with premium black finishes. The steering wheel trim, door handles, window switches, speaker grilles, dashboard moldings, air vents, HVAC controls and center console details all follow the same approach.
The result isn't flashy. Instead, the cabin feels quieter and more sophisticated, with fewer contrasting finishes competing for attention.
Hybrid Power Remains Standard
Mechanically, Hyundai hasn't changed the formula. Every 2027 Hyundai Palisade Hybrid Calligraphy Black Ink Edition comes exclusively with the company's 2.5-liter turbocharged hybrid powertrain, keeping the focus on efficiency as well as smooth everyday performance. Buyers can choose either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive depending on their needs.
A New Flagship for the Palisade Range
The Black Ink edition sits at the top of the Palisade Hybrid lineup and is aimed at buyers who prefer subtle luxury over bright trim and decorative chrome. Pricing starts at $59,280 for front-wheel-drive models and $61,280 for all-wheel-drive versions, with deliveries beginning in July.
Rather than changing what already works, Hyundai has focused on presentation.
