2027 Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome
By Lorenzo Bianchi October 19, 2026
The 2027 Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome introduces a restrained design treatment, with Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue exterior colours and revised body-coloured details.
Carbon fibre mirrors, a rear spoiler, newly designed forged wheels and an Alcantara steering wheel distinguish the special edition from the regular i30 Sedan N.
Australian production allocation is limited to 200 units, with manual and dual-clutch transmission options. Showroom arrivals begin in November 2026, while pricing remains unannounced.
Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome Introduces a Different Look
Hyundai has introduced the 2027 Hyundai i30 Sedan N Monochrome, a special edition of its performance sedan with fewer contrasting exterior accents and a greater emphasis on materials.
Revealed on October 19, 2026, the new version follows feedback from customers looking for a less visually prominent interpretation of the i30 Sedan N.
Hyundai describes the approach as "Understated Yet Undeniable," referring to a design that retains the existing model's motorsport connections without relying heavily on contrasting colours.
The Monochrome is planned for Korea, Canada and Australia, with additional markets under consideration.
Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue Exterior Colours
The special edition is offered in two body colours: Abyss Black Pearl and Performance Blue.
Rather than introducing an entirely different body design, Hyundai has revised selected exterior components to create a more consistent appearance.
Body-coloured details replace some of the stronger visual contrasts associated with the regular performance sedan.
The front and rear bumpers receive revised detailing, accompanied by changes to the side sills and rear diffuser.
Carbon fibre mirror housings and a rear spoiler provide a different material finish against the painted bodywork.
Hyundai has not announced changes to the vehicle's exterior dimensions, wheelbase or basic sedan proportions.
Forged Wheels and Revised Brake Calliper Details
The i30 Sedan N Monochrome receives newly designed forged wheels, one of the edition's principal exterior changes.
Hyundai has also revised the appearance of the brake callipers to match the monochromatic design treatment.
The wheels complement the darker trim elements and carbon fibre components, bringing the performance details into the overall design rather than highlighting them through contrasting colours.
Wheel diameter, tyre dimensions and suspension changes were not specified in the announcement.
Alcantara Steering Wheel and Carbon Fibre Interior Details
Inside, Hyundai has introduced an Alcantara-trimmed steering wheel developed specifically for the Monochrome edition.
Its integrated buttons are finished in black, continuing the restrained colour treatment.
Alcantara also appears on selected interior components, although Hyundai has not identified every surface receiving the material.
The cabin changes concentrate on texture and finish rather than a redesigned dashboard.
No new infotainment displays, digital instruments or seating configurations were detailed in the supplied announcement.
Manual and DCT Transmissions Confirmed for Australia
Hyundai has confirmed that Australian customers will have a choice of manual and dual-clutch transmission configurations.
The company has not provided separate engine output, acceleration figures or revised mechanical specifications for the Monochrome edition.
Its relationship with the existing i30 Sedan N therefore centres on the exterior and interior changes described in the release.
Specific performance differences, if any, remain unconfirmed.
Australian Deliveries Begin in November 2026
The i30 Sedan N Monochrome will reach Australian showrooms from November 2026, with just 200 units allocated to that market.
Sales in Korea are scheduled to begin in late October, while Canadian availability will be detailed separately.
Pricing has not yet been announced.
Hyundai has indicated that specifications, production allocations and availability may vary between markets, leaving the Monochrome's wider international rollout open to further announcements.
