2027 Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 Takes Aim Off Road
Big, boxy SUVs are making a comeback, but they're arriving with very different technology beneath the bodywork. The 2027 Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 is the latest example, combining the familiar shape of a traditional off-roader with an electrified plug-in hybrid powertrain.
Official information released ahead of its debut confirms the new model will be revealed on July 24. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the 2027 Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 is expected to become one of the most capable vehicles in the Galaxy lineup, pairing everyday usability with hardware designed for tougher terrain.
Rugged Looks With Modern Tech
At first glance, the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 leaves little doubt about its purpose.
Its upright front end features a slim grille framed by distinctive headlamps with square outer housings and circular lighting elements. The bonnet carries raised character lines and flat air vents, giving the SUV a tougher appearance, while orange accents on the lower bumper and an exposed front recovery hook hint at its off-road intentions. Sitting above the windscreen is a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, suggesting advanced driver assistance systems will be part of the package.
The side profile sticks to a clean, functional design. Straight body lines, conventional door handles and a roof rack reinforce its utilitarian character, while automatic retractable side steps add convenience. Around the back, Geely has kept the classic side-hinged tailgate and externally mounted spare wheel, features long associated with dedicated off-road vehicles.
A Cabin That Mixes Comfort And Utility
Inside, the layout blends familiar technology with physical controls.
The dashboard is centred around a floating infotainment display, with a row of buttons positioned below for frequently used functions. The aircraft-inspired gear selector sits prominently on the centre console alongside additional off-road controls, giving the interior a more mechanical feel than many modern SUVs. A two-tone colour scheme, diamond-pattern leather trim on the doors and metallic speaker grilles featuring mountain-inspired detailing help lift the overall ambience. The cabin is configured as a spacious five-seater.
Three Motors And Serious Capability
The powertrain is where the Geely Galaxy Cruiser 700 separates itself from more conventional SUVs.
Geely says the vehicle will use a plug-in hybrid system built around either a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 160 kW or a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 120 kW. Previous official information also confirms a three-motor four-wheel-drive system, standard differential lock and a full suite of off-road equipment. Together, the electrified system develops a combined 830 kW.
Power comes from a 47.14 kWh CATL lithium iron phosphate battery, with electric-only driving ranges of 165 km, 170 km or 185 km, depending on the variant. Additional specifications remain [Unverified] until the SUV makes its official debut.
