2027 GAC Motor Aion N60

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The Aion N60 prioritises space and comfort with a long wheelbase and standard zero-gravity massage seats.

  • CLTC range peaks at 630 km using lithium iron phosphate batteries.

  • Lidar and highway navigation are standard across the entire range.

A compact, useful electric SUV

The 2027 GAC Aion N60 enters the small electric SUV market with a clear purpose. This is not a design experiment, nor is it a performance-led halo model. Instead, GAC portrays the N60 as a spacious, family-friendly EV that puts usability and range first. China's official photos highlight this emphasis by showcasing a car that is more defined by interior volume and efficiency than by overt styling cues.

In a market crowded with compact EV crossovers chasing youthful design, the N60’s priorities feel deliberate. It is aimed at buyers who want room, comfort, and technology without stepping into a larger, more expensive class.

Exterior design built around light and visibility

The front of the Aion N60 introduces a new star-ring style lighting signature, defined by a continuous LED light strip stretching across the nose. At its centre sits a self-illuminating AION logo, giving the car a clear night-time identity. Below, the front bumper uses a multi-spoke air-intake design with vertical air guides on each side, adding texture without unnecessary aggression.

The A-pillars have tiny triangular windows to enhance outward visibility, and the windscreen is steeply sloped and extends far forward. On the roof, a lidar sensor is clearly visible. Highway navigation functionality is standard across all variants, a notable inclusion at this level.

Proportions that favour interior space

From the side, the N60 follows familiar Aion proportions, with clean surfaces and an emphasis on cabin length. Measuring 4,615 mm long, up to 1,883 mm wide, and 1,673 mm tall, it sits firmly in the compact SUV class. The 2,775 mm wheelbase is the key figure here, supporting the car’s focus on rear passenger comfort and overall spaciousness.

Low-drag 18-inch wheels reinforce the efficiency-first approach. At the rear, the taillights mirror the front with a continuous double-spoke LED strip. The tailgate opening is large and upright, and the rear bumper adopts a crossover-style design that hints at versatility rather than sportiness.

Comfort and seating as a selling point

Inside, the Aion N60 adopts a five-seat layout, but the headline feature is the seating. All models come standard with zero-gravity massage seats, a specification more commonly associated with larger or more premium vehicles. This detail alone signals how strongly GAC is leaning into comfort as a differentiator.

Although particular dashboard specs have not been made public, the focus on roominess and comfortable seats points to an interior intended for daily family use and extended trips rather than minimalist experimentation.

Electric power focused on choice and range

Power comes from a front-wheel-drive electric motor offered in two outputs, rated at 100 kW and 165 kW. Battery technology is lithium iron phosphate, chosen for durability and cost stability. Buyers can select from three CLTC range ratings: 410 km, 510 km, or a maximum of 630 km, depending on configuration.

The chassis uses a rear five-link independent suspension, an arrangement intended to balance ride comfort with stability, particularly when the vehicle is fully loaded.
