2027 Fiat QUBO L

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Designed around real family use, with two body lengths and highly flexible seating.

  • Broad powertrain choice, including diesel, petrol, and a five-seat electric variant.

  • Positioned as a space-first alternative to SUVs, prioritising storage and adaptability.

A family vehicle designed without apology

Fiat’s unveiling of the 2027 Fiat QUBO L reads like a quiet rejection of current SUV trends. Presented as a “family mover for modern living,” the QUBO L is not styled to impress from a distance. Instead, it leans into function, interior volume, and day-to-day usefulness. Fiat describes it as a vehicle for everyone from city dwellers to outdoor-focused families, and the design decisions support that claim rather than contradict it.

Proportions shaped by purpose

The QUBO L is offered in two clearly defined formats. The five-seat version measures 4.40 metres in length, while the long-wheelbase seven-seat version stretches to 4.75 metres. The longer body brings a genuinely modular cabin, with three individually adjustable seats in the second row and two extractable seats mounted on rails in the third. Fiat states there are up to 144 possible seating configurations, a figure that reflects just how central flexibility is to the vehicle’s concept.

Visually, the stance is upright and honest. Large windows, short overhangs, and a boxy profile prioritise visibility and interior space over visual drama. It looks exactly like what it is meant to be.

Cabin space and thoughtful details

Inside, the QUBO L focuses on practical problem-solving. Fiat highlights 27 separate storage compartments spread throughout the cabin, aimed at keeping everyday clutter under control. Cargo versatility is equally central. With the front passenger seat folded, the loading length extends to up to three metres, making it possible to carry long or bulky items without improvisation.

One of the more distinctive features is the Magic Windows glass roof. This system allows access to items stored on the luggage shelf without opening the tailgate, while also bringing additional light into the cabin. Combined with a large rear opening, it reinforces the QUBO L’s emphasis on ease of use rather than novelty.

Powertrain choice and everyday driving

The 2027 Fiat QUBO L stands out within Fiat’s range by retaining diesel power. It is the brand’s only diesel model, offered with a 100 hp or 130 hp manual, or a 130 hp automatic. Petrol and electric options broaden the lineup, including a 110 hp petrol engine and a 136 hp electric version available on the five-seat model.

Fiat quotes a driving range of up to 900 kilometres on a full tank for combustion variants, underlining the vehicle’s suitability for long-distance travel as well as daily commuting. Extended Grip Control is also available, adjusting engine response and traction to improve stability on snow, mud, or gravel.

Where the QUBO L fits today

With three trim levels—POP, ICON, and LA PRIMA—the QUBO L is positioned as a practical cornerstone rather than a niche product. Orders open in January 2026, with showroom arrivals scheduled for early 2026. In a market increasingly dominated by crossover styling, the 2027 Fiat QUBO L offers something quieter and more rational: space, flexibility, and a clear understanding of how families actually use their vehicles.
