2027 Ferrari 12Cilindri Tailor Made

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 12Cilindri Tailor Made is a one-off created exclusively for the South Korean market.

  • Art, craft, and material innovation drive the design more than performance changes.

  • Ferrari’s flagship V12 remains mechanically intact, anchoring the project in tradition.

A Tailor Made project with cultural intent

The 2027 Ferrari 12Cilindri Tailor Made is not positioned as a derivative or limited run. It is a single, highly curated commission developed over nearly two years, intended as a rolling expression of craftsmanship and cultural exchange. Revealed in January 2026, this example represents the most elaborate interpretation yet of Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme, created specifically for the South Korean market.

The project brings together Ferrari’s Styling Centre and R&D teams with the design platform COOL HUNTING® and a group of contemporary Korean artists. The result is less a specification exercise and more a cohesive narrative, where every surface carries meaning rather than decoration.

Exterior colour as a moving canvas

The car is immediately identifiable by its bespoke transitional paint, named Yoonseul. The finish, which was created specifically for this car, alternates between green, violet, and blue based on the light. The visual energy of contemporary Seoul, which includes neon-lit neighborhoods and modern music culture, as well as Celadon ceramics, serve as the inspiration, which has its roots in Korean tradition.

Beyond color, the outside turns into a real canvas. Sound and performance artist duo GRAYCODE and jiiiiin translated the acoustic signature of Ferrari’s V12 into a visual graphic applied to the bodywork. Executed using a darker shade of the same transitional paint, the pattern adds depth without overwhelming the car’s clean GT proportions. Even the Scuderia Ferrari shields, wheel caps, long F nameplate, and Prancing Horse are reimagined using translucent materials, an unprecedented level of exterior customisation for a Ferrari Tailor Made car.

Interior craftsmanship pushed further than before

Inside, the Tailor Made philosophy reaches new ground. Textile artist Dahye Jeong contributes hand-woven patterns inspired by traditional Korean horsehair weaving. Her work appears across the seats, floor, and soft surfaces through a newly developed three-dimensional fabric, used in a Ferrari for the first time.

The most striking gesture sits above and ahead of the occupants. The glass roof is screen-printed with Jeong’s pattern, allowing light to cast shifting shadows into the cabin. On the dashboard, a hand-woven horsehair artwork sourced from certified Mongolian suppliers is integrated directly into the structure, turning the interior into a gallery rather than a showcase of trim options.

White lacquer details, inspired by artist TaeHyun Lee’s contemporary reinterpretations of traditional techniques, appear on the brake callipers and shift paddles. Both elements are firsts for a factory-built Ferrari, reinforcing how far this project stretches the brand’s usual boundaries.

V12 performance as the constant

Beneath the artistic layer, the Ferrari 12Cilindri remains mechanically unchanged. Power comes from the naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12, producing 830 cv and revving to 9,500 rpm. Performance figures remain intact, with a top speed exceeding 340 km/h and 0–100 km/h achieved in around 2.9 seconds.

That continuity is intentional. Ferrari treats the V12 as an anchor point, allowing experimentation around it without compromising the lineage of front-engined, two-seat Gran Turismo models that inspired the 12Cilindri’s form.

Positioning beyond series production

The 2027 Ferrari 12Cilindri Tailor Made does not compete in a market sense. It exists outside traditional comparison, positioned as a demonstration of what Ferrari’s personalisation programme can achieve when time, craft, and cultural reference are given priority. It is both a celebration of the V12 and a reminder that, at its highest level, Ferrari still sees the car as an object of art as much as performance.
