New design language introduces sharper identity
The 2027 DS No7 arrives as a full replacement for the outgoing DS 7, and visually, it signals a shift rather than a clean break. The silhouette remains familiar. What changes is the precision.
The front adopts the brand’s newer lighting signature, with DS Light Blade elements framing the face and an illuminated grille adding presence without excess. It’s a more deliberate look than before. Cleaner, more structured.
Along the sides, the profile feels stretched slightly. The shoulder line sits higher, giving the car a more planted appearance, while the glazing tapers toward the rear. There’s a subtle sense of movement even at rest.
At the back, vertical lighting elements echo the front signature. The detailing isn’t complex, but it’s recognisable. That seems to be the point.
Larger dimensions improve stance and cabin balance
The DS No7 grows slightly in length, now measuring 4.66 metres, with a 2.79-metre wheelbase. The increase is modest on paper, but it has a visible effect on proportions.
The stance feels more settled. Wheels, now up to 21 inches, fill the arches more convincingly. Overhangs remain controlled, and the roofline keeps a smooth arc that doesn’t compromise rear headroom.
Aerodynamics have also been considered, with a drag coefficient of 0.26, helped by the extended roof spoiler and carefully shaped surfaces. The design leans toward efficiency without appearing overly technical.
Interior focuses on space, light and material detail
Inside, the DS No7 continues the brand’s focus on atmosphere. The cabin feels open, helped by an enlarged glass area and a panoramic roof that increases headroom.
The layout is straightforward. A 10-inch digital cluster sits ahead of the driver, while a 16-inch central touchscreen handles most functions through the DS Iris System 2.0. The interface behaves more like a smartphone, with voice control and integrated connectivity.
Materials play a central role. Nappa leather, Alcantara and brushed aluminium are used across different trims, with detailing such as “Clous de Paris” embossing and contrast stitching adding texture rather than decoration.
There’s a sense of consistency throughout. Front and rear passengers are treated similarly in terms of finish and comfort.
Electric and hybrid powertrains define the range
The headline figure comes from the fully electric version. The DS No7 E-TENSE FWD Long Range offers up to 740 km (WLTP), supported by a 97.2 kWh battery produced in France.
Other electric variants are available, including a 73.7 kWh version with up to 543 km range, and an all-wheel-drive configuration delivering up to 350 hp, rising briefly to 375 hp with boost.
Charging performance has also been addressed. The system can move from 20 to 80 percent in around 27 minutes, with up to 160 kW charging capability and energy recovery supported by adjustable regenerative braking.
Alongside the electric models, DS offers a 145 hp self-charging hybrid, designed for lower emissions and everyday efficiency.
Technology and comfort shape its market positioning
The DS No7 sits at the centre of the premium compact SUV segment, where differentiation often comes down to refinement and technology.
It brings a wide range of driver assistance systems, including DS Drive Assist 2.0, adaptive cruise control with predictive functions, and night vision capable of detecting pedestrians and animals at distance.
Comfort remains a defining trait. Features like active scan suspension, acoustic glass and massaging seats underline the focus on long-distance usability.
The approach is consistent. Rather than chasing extremes, the DS No7 refines what the brand already does well. More range, more technology, and a slightly more resolved design.
