2027 Chrysler Pacifica AWD

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • AWD available without losing Stow ’n Go seating flexibility.

  • 3.6L V6 delivers 287 hp with nine-speed automatic.

  • Updated front design and improved safety and tech features.

A minivan that covers more ground than most

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica AWD doesn’t try to change the idea of a minivan. It just stretches what it can do.

All-wheel drive is still a rare thing in this segment. What stands out here is how it’s integrated. Chrysler keeps its Stow ’n Go seating system fully intact, even with AWD in place.

That’s not a small detail. In most cases, adding AWD means giving something up. Here, the folding second and third rows still disappear into the floor as usual. It’s a simple advantage, but one that’s easy to appreciate once you start using the car.

Front design feels a bit more intentional

From the outside, the biggest change sits at the front. The fascia has been reshaped with vertical LED headlamps and a grille that now lights up. The lighting pattern has a distinct look when the vehicle is locked or unlocked, almost like a brief animation rather than just illumination.

The wing badge is part of that setup now, sitting within the light signature rather than above it. It’s a small shift, but it gives the front end a more cohesive look.

Beyond that, the Pacifica still looks familiar. Long roofline, clean sides, and proportions that are clearly built around interior space.

Same proportions, same priorities

The layout hasn’t changed, and it doesn’t need to. Three rows, plenty of room, and a shape that’s designed to carry people without compromise. Seven seats come standard, with an eight-seat option available depending on trim.

What matters here is that AWD doesn’t get in the way of any of it. The floor remains flat when the seats are folded, and cargo space stays usable. That balance is really the point of the whole setup.

Interior stays focused on real use

Inside, the Pacifica keeps things straightforward. There’s no attempt to completely rethink the cabin. Storage is easy to reach, seating is flexible, and everything is laid out in a way that makes sense over time rather than just at first glance.

Technology updates are there, but they’re not overwhelming. Chrysler splits features into different packages, so buyers can choose what they actually need — whether that’s rear-seat screens, extra charging points, or cabin monitoring through the FamCAM system. It feels more flexible than before.

V6 and AWD work quietly in the background

Under the hood, things stay familiar. The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 continues, producing 287 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

The AWD system isn’t something you actively manage. It shifts power where needed, and disconnects when it isn’t, helping with efficiency. Most of the time, you don’t notice it. That’s kind of the point.

Still built around everyday practicality

The Pacifica hasn’t lost sight of what it’s for. Stow ’n Go remains the key feature. Both rear rows fold flat into the floor, creating a large, usable cargo space in seconds. It’s still one of the most useful setups in this segment.

There are a few smaller updates as well. The adjustable-height power liftgate makes life easier in tight spaces, and towing capacity reaches up to 3,600 pounds when properly equipped.

Not a reinvention, just more capable

The 2027 Chrysler Pacifica AWD doesn’t try to be something new. It stays close to what it has always been. A practical, flexible family vehicle. It just adds a bit more capability to that formula.
