The 2027 BYD Atto 8 joins the brand's European lineup as a flagship seven-seat electric SUV, measuring 5,040 mm long and offering up to 405 miles of WLTP range.
Two powertrain options include a 462 PS rear-wheel-drive model and a 775 PS all-wheel-drive version capable of reaching 62 mph in 4.6 seconds.
BYD's second-generation Blade Battery supports Flash Charging, taking the 115 kWh battery from 10 to 97 percent in nine minutes under the specified conditions.
BYD Atto 8 Arrives in Paris as a Seven Seat Flagship
The 2027 BYD Atto 8 has made its debut at the Paris Motor Show, taking the top position in the Chinese manufacturer's European SUV range. It arrives with seven seats, two electric powertrain options and a charging system designed to reduce the time spent at public charging stations.
The Atto 8 sits above models such as the Atto 3 and Seal U, with European sales scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
One of its main talking points is the new Flash Charging technology, which makes its European debut alongside BYD's second-generation Blade Battery.
Full Size SUV Proportions and Matrix LED Lighting
The Atto 8 measures 5,040 mm long, 1,996 mm wide and 1,760 mm tall, giving it the proportions expected of a large family SUV.
At the front, slim daytime running lights sit above matrix LED headlights. The lower bumper uses sharp angles to create a broad appearance.
A pronounced shoulder line runs along the sides, rising into the rear wheel arches. Darkened C-pillars and chrome detailing around the D-pillars help visually extend the roofline.
At the rear, infinity knot taillights frame an illuminated BYD emblem, while a roof spoiler and carefully shaped rear panels help manage airflow.
Seven Seat Interior With Massage Functions
Inside, the Atto 8 offers three rows of seating beneath a 2.39 square meter panoramic glass roof.
Both front seats and the outer seats in the second row feature heating, ventilation and massage functions. Genuine leather upholstery and three-zone climate control are standard.
The dashboard combines a 15.6-inch touchscreen, 10.25-inch digital instruments and a 26-inch head-up display. Google Built-in provides navigation, voice assistance and app support.
Other equipment includes wireless phone charging, a refrigerator that can cool or heat its contents, and up to 21 speakers in the Excellence AWD.
Luggage capacity starts at 270 liters with seven seats occupied, expanding to 1,960 liters when the rear rows are folded. A separate 136-liter front storage compartment provides additional space.
775 PS Electric Performance and Nine Minute Charging
The Design RWD uses a single rear motor producing 462 PS and 365 Nm, reaching 62 mph in eight seconds. Its 115 kWh battery provides up to 405 miles of WLTP range.
The Excellence AWD adds a front motor, increasing output to 775 PS and 775 Nm. Acceleration to 62 mph takes 4.6 seconds, while WLTP range is 374 miles.
Both versions use BYD's second-generation Blade Battery.
Flash Charging can replenish the battery from 10 to 70 percent in five minutes or from 10 to 97 percent in nine minutes under the stated charging conditions.
