2027 AVATR 9
By Lorenzo Bianchi September 8, 2026
The AVATR 9 is a new six seat model jointly developed by AVATR and Huawei, with a launch expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
A boxier exterior introduces split headlights, extensive chrome detailing, LiDAR and large multi spoke wheels.
The 2027 AVATR 9 has appeared in its first official images, previewing a larger six seat model that takes AVATR's design in a noticeably different direction. The vehicle is described in the supplied material as the first completely new model jointly developed by AVATR and Huawei, with an official launch expected during the fourth quarter of 2026.
Huawei contributes its latest vehicle control, lighting, voice and intelligent driving technologies, while CATL supplies its latest battery technology. AVATR's self developed Taihang technology is also part of the package, although detailed technical specifications have not yet been disclosed.
Boxier Shape Changes the AVATR Look
The first thing that stands out is the shape. Compared with existing AVATR models, the 9 adopts a squarer, more upright exterior rather than relying as heavily on the smoother, lower forms associated with the current range.
Split headlights sit at the front, separated by a large chrome plated metal trim panel. A LiDAR unit is mounted above the windscreen area.
The latest Huawei Qiankun driver assistance system is also expected, though its exact functionality and hardware specification have not been confirmed in the supplied material.
Clean Profile With Large Multi Spoke Wheels
Viewed from the side, the AVATR 9 uses fairly clean body surfacing with sharper lines, semi concealed door handles and a two tone exterior treatment. Large multi spoke wheels fill the arches, while chrome appears repeatedly around the exterior.
At the rear, the squared theme continues. A continuous taillight assembly stretches across the body, with a roof spoiler sitting above it. The treatment closely echoes the more upright front rather than introducing a dramatically different rear graphic.
Six Seat Cabin Remains Under Wraps
The six seat arrangement is the main confirmed cabin detail. AVATR Technology president Chen Zhuo has indicated that the model targets multi passenger travel and customers with particularly high space requirements.
Huawei and CATL Technology Take Centre Stage
Detailed powertrain information is also absent. Motor configuration, output, battery capacity, range, charging performance and acceleration figures have not been announced and should not yet be inferred from other AVATR products.
What AVATR has confirmed is the involvement of CATL's latest battery technology alongside Huawei's vehicle systems and AVATR's Taihang technology. For now, the 2027 AVATR 9 is best viewed as a technology heavy six seat flagship whose mechanical specification will become clearer closer to its fourth quarter launch.
