AVATR Stretches the 07 Into a Larger Family SUV
The 2027 AVATR 07L appears to be taking a slightly different direction from the standard AVATR 07. Instead of chasing a more aggressive coupe-like profile or sportier positioning, the longer-wheelbase model seems aimed more directly at comfort, rear-seat space, and luxury-focused family use.
Official images released this week show a vehicle that remains visually close to the regular AVATR 07, though several subtle changes suggest the company is trying to move the SUV slightly further upscale.
The overall shape stays familiar. Slim front lighting, smooth surfacing, and relatively clean body lines continue to define the design language. From the front, most buyers would probably struggle to distinguish the 07L from the standard model immediately.
The more noticeable changes appear along the side profile and rear section.
Longer Wheelbase Changes the SUV’s Proportions
The “L” badge matters here.
According to the released information, the wheelbase is expected to increase from the standard AVATR 07’s 2,940 mm to approximately 2,990 mm, while overall length may grow from 4,825 mm to around 4,910 mm.
That additional length subtly changes the SUV’s stance. The side profile looks longer and slightly flatter visually, especially around the rear doors and quarter sections. Roof rails have also been added, which helps reinforce the family-oriented positioning while giving the vehicle a more mature appearance overall.
The SUV continues using semi-concealed door handles, while revised side skirts and trim pieces help separate the 07L from the standard model.
At the rear, the biggest visual update comes from the switch to a full-width taillight design. The lighting signature gives the SUV a wider appearance and aligns it more closely with current premium EV design trends.
Intelligent Driving Hardware Appears to Expand
Technology seems to be a major focus for the 07L.
The roof-mounted lidar system is expected to use an 896-line configuration, though AVATR has not officially confirmed full technical specifications yet. [Unverified] Sensors integrated into the front fenders also suggest the SUV will receive the latest Huawei Qiankun intelligent driving system.
The Huawei Qiankun branding is now visible directly on the B-pillar, which feels significant because it places the technology partnership much more visibly into the vehicle’s exterior identity.
Reports also suggest the rear section may integrate intelligent-driving blue light indicators, though official confirmation remains limited for now. [Unverified]
Cabin Focuses on Space Rather Than Extra Seating
Interestingly, AVATR is not using the larger footprint to add a third row.
Instead, the 07L is expected to retain a five-seat layout and is being positioned as a “family luxury large five-seat SUV.” That wording strongly suggests rear-seat comfort and cabin spaciousness are being prioritized over maximum passenger capacity.
Interior images have not yet been released, so detailed material and technology specifications remain unknown. [Unverified] Still, the extended wheelbase alone should provide noticeably more rear legroom compared with the existing model. [Inference]
With larger electric SUVs becoming increasingly important in the Chinese market, the 07L appears positioned to compete more directly with premium long-wheelbase family EVs rather than sport-focused crossovers.
