2027 Audi SQ7 4M
By Lorenzo Bianchi June 10, 2026
The 2027 Audi SQ7 uses a 591 hp twin turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 and reaches 60 mph in 3.7 seconds.
Standard adaptive air suspension and quattro all-wheel drive support the SUV's performance focus.
New Digital Matrix headlights, OLED taillights, and an updated cabin bring major technology upgrades.
The Fastest Version of Audi's Largest SUV Returns
Large family SUVs are rarely short on power these days, yet the new 2027 Audi SQ7 still manages to stand apart. Audi's latest performance flagship combines seating for up to seven passengers with acceleration figures that would have seemed unrealistic for a three-row SUV not long ago.
The third generation SQ7 arrives alongside the standard Q7, though the performance model takes a noticeably different path. While practicality remains a core part of the package, the engineering team clearly spent considerable time making sure the SUV feels worthy of its S badge.
More Presence Without Losing Practicality
At first glance, the SQ7 looks familiar. Then the details begin to stand out.
A larger Singleframe grille, dedicated S model front and rear bumpers, and a distinctive honeycomb grille pattern give the SUV a stronger visual identity. The body retains Audi's familiar proportions, with a high shoulder line and pronounced wheel arches helping emphasize its width.
The roofline remains relatively straight before tapering toward a more upright rear pillar. That decision benefits interior space while preserving the vehicle's planted stance. Standard 22-inch wheels fill the arches, while optional 23-inch designs add even more visual impact.
Lighting technology also plays a major role. Available Digital Matrix LED headlights and digital OLED taillights introduce customizable signatures, communication lighting functions, and ground projection features designed to improve visibility around the vehicle.
A Cabin Built for Long Distances
Inside, the SQ7 balances performance cues with everyday usability. Seven seats are standard, while buyers can choose a six-seat layout with second-row captain's chairs.
The dashboard follows Audi's latest digital architecture, centered around the MMI panoramic display and a standard passenger screen. Ambient lighting stretches across the dashboard, and available sport seats add illuminated headrest elements that become visible when the vehicle is locked or unlocked.
A large panoramic glass roof contributes to the feeling of space. The roof can switch between transparent and opaque settings, and its integrated lighting system adapts to the selected interior lighting theme.
Twin Turbo V8 Defines the Experience
The headline figure is found under the hood.
Audi has fitted the 2027 SQ7 with a revised 4.0-litre twin turbocharged V8 producing 591 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent through an eight-speed automatic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive with an electronically controlled rear differential.
According to Audi, the result is a 0-60 mph time of 3.7 seconds, placing the SQ7 among the quickest SUVs in its competitive set. Despite that performance, towing capability remains substantial at up to 7,700 pounds when equipped with the available towing package.
Technology Supports Everyday Driving
The SQ7 receives a broad range of driver assistance systems, including park assist, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, reverse assist, and trained parking functions that can memorize frequently used parking manoeuvres.
Audi has also expanded the digital experience through an AI-powered voice assistant integrated with ChatGPT, an onboard app store, and an available factory-installed 4K dashcam system.
For buyers considering alternatives such as the BMW X5 M60i, Mercedes-AMG GLE 53, Porsche Cayenne S, and Range Rover Sport Dynamic SE, the new SQ7 enters the segment with a familiar formula. It remains a large luxury SUV first, but one capable of delivering sports-car-like acceleration when the road opens up.
