A Software-Driven Update for Model Year 2027
For the 2027 model year, Audi is refining rather than reinventing the SQ6 e-tron for the U.S. market. The performance-focused electric SUV receives a series of hardware and software updates shared across the Q6 e-tron family, all engineered to improve day-to-day usability, digital clarity, and driving consistency. U.S. availability is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026.
Built on Audi’s Premium Platform Electric architecture, the SQ6 e-tron continues as the dynamic flagship within the Q6 lineup, now supported by a more cohesive digital environment and expanded assistance systems that mirror recent updates introduced on other Audi PPE-based models.
Exterior Presence and Performance Identity
In press imagery, the SQ6 e-tron retains its familiar proportions and restrained aggression. The stance remains broad and planted, with design emphasis placed on surface quality rather than ornamentation. Optional S line black optic packages introduce darker exterior detailing and larger 20-inch wheel designs, visually tightening the SUV’s performance identity without altering its underlying form.
The SQ6 e-tron remains recognizably Audi in execution, balancing muscular volume with clean transitions between panels. It avoids overt EV theatrics, instead reinforcing continuity with Audi’s established SUV design language.
Interior Interface and Digital Architecture
The most visible changes appear inside. Audi introduces an all-new MMI interface across the Digital Stage, spanning the central touchscreen, Audi virtual cockpit, and available passenger display. The updated design introduces a unified design language in line with Audi's larger digital environment, minimizes visual clutter, and prioritizes graphical elements over lists.
Touch-sensitive controls have been replaced by a tactile scroll wheel in the revised multifunction steering wheel. The change suggests a greater emphasis on tactile clarity. Three adjustable virtual cockpit perspectives are available to drivers: standard instrumentation, navigation-focused layouts, and driver-assistance graphics.
Driver assistance and daily functionality
In 2027, the SQ6 e-tron will provide additional driver assistance. A high-resolution dashcam that records 4K video and keeps data locally in the car is now standard on Premium Plus trims. Parking technology is also developing; Park Assist Pro provides enhanced reverse assist and taught parking capabilities on higher trim levels.
Additionally, Audi improves one-pedal braking action, which increases energy recovery and enables a smoother deceleration to a full stop.
New experiential features, including Power Nap mode, aim to improve comfort during charging stops, reflecting the realities of EV ownership rather than track-focused ambition.
Powertrain and Market Positioning
The 2027 Audi SQ6 e-tron continues with its dual-motor electric quattro setup, producing 509 horsepower and positioning it firmly as the performance anchor of the Q6 e-tron range. Pricing for the U.S. market starts at $73,200, placing it above standard Q6 variants while undercutting larger electric performance SUVs.
