2027 Audi RS 5 Sedan B10 UK Version Opens A New Chapter
The 2027 Audi RS 5 Sedan B10 UK Version arrives with a familiar name but a very different story underneath. For the first time, Audi Sport has given its iconic RS sports saloon a plug-in hybrid powertrain, combining traditional performance with a useful electric driving range. It doesn't feel like Audi has abandoned what made the RS badge special. Instead, it has found another way to deliver it.
UK order books are now open, with the RS 5 Saloon priced from £89,400 and first customer deliveries expected during the summer.
Sharper Styling Without Losing Its RS Identity
At a glance, there's no mistaking this as an RS model.
The wider wheel arches immediately stand out, while the honeycomb Singleframe grille sits between deep air curtains that help manage airflow. Along the sides, the pronounced shoulder blisters are a subtle nod to the legendary Audi Ur quattro, giving the body extra presence without relying on unnecessary styling tricks.
The rear keeps things clean. A neatly integrated spoiler sits above a sculpted diffuser, while the signature oval RS exhaust finishers remain exactly where enthusiasts expect them. Across the range, lighting also plays a bigger role, with Matrix LED headlights and a full-width rear light strip giving the car a distinctive appearance after dark.
A Cabin Designed Around The Driver
Inside, Audi hasn't chased dramatic design for the sake of it.
The cabin combines supportive Sport Seats Plus with honeycomb quilting, Fine Nappa leather, Dinamica microfibre and a flat-top, flat-bottom RS steering wheel that immediately reminds the driver this isn't a standard A5.
Technology is integrated naturally rather than dominating the interior. The curved Audi MMI Panorama display combines an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster with a 14.5-inch central touchscreen, while a 10.9-inch passenger display and head-up display are fitted as standard. Drivers can also monitor hybrid energy flow, tyre pressures, lap timing and other RS-specific performance data directly through the digital displays.
Plug In Hybrid Power Meets RS Performance
The biggest talking point sits beneath the bodywork.
Audi pairs a 2.9-litre twin-turbocharged V6 producing 510PS with a 130kW electric motor for a combined system output of 639PS and 825Nm. That allows the RS 5 Saloon to sprint from 0-62mph in just 3.6 seconds while also offering an electric-only driving range of up to 52 miles.
Charging is equally practical, with support for up to 11kW AC charging, allowing the battery to recharge from empty in around two and a half hours. Audi has also developed a new quattro system featuring rear electromechanical torque vectoring to improve agility and stability in demanding driving conditions.
Everyday Practicality Meets Serious Pace
Despite its performance credentials, the RS 5 Saloon still delivers everyday usability.
Split-folding rear seats, an electrically operated boot lid, three-zone climate control and a long list of driver assistance technologies all come as standard. Buyers can also choose between RS 5, Carbon Black and performance Vorsprung specifications, each adding progressively more distinctive styling and equipment.
With electrification now part of the RS formula, the 2027 Audi RS 5 Sedan B10 UK Version enters a competitive segment that includes other high-performance premium sports saloons. What sets it apart is its attempt to combine everyday electric driving with the pace and character expected from an RS badge, without asking owners to compromise either.
