2026 YangWang U9 Xtreme Forest

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • New Xtreme Forest color scheme references the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

  • Cosmetic update layered onto YangWang U9’s existing 960 kW electric platform.

  • Positioned as a limited-style, high-priced personalization option.

Exterior Design Inspired by the Green Hell

The 2026 YangWang U9 Xtreme Forest is less a new model than a symbolic extension of an already extreme electric hypercar. Visually, the focus is squarely on the paint. The newly introduced Xtreme Forest exterior color draws direct inspiration from the Nürburgring Nordschleife, often referred to as the “Green Hell,” and is intended to commemorate the U9’s recent high-speed and lap-time milestones.

In press imagery, the deep green finish reads darker and more complex than a conventional metallic. YangWang specifies a four-layer coating process incorporating mica pigments, pearlescent layers, and nano-optical particles. The result is a surface that shifts subtly with light rather than presenting a flat hue. Panel shapes remain unchanged, but the color amplifies the U9’s low, wide stance and exaggerated aero surfaces without adding visual noise.

The option is priced at 50,000 yuan for the exterior finish, with an additional 30,000 yuan for a matching interior theme. This places the Xtreme Forest specification firmly in the realm of collector-grade personalization rather than mainstream configuration choice

Performance and Powertrain Context

Mechanically, the YangWang U9 Xtreme Forest is identical to the standard U9. That baseline, however, remains notable. The car uses a four-motor electric drivetrain, with each motor rated at 240 kW, delivering a combined output of 960 kW and peak torque of 1,680 Nm. Power is sent independently to each wheel, supporting advanced torque vectoring strategies.

Acceleration figures remain unchanged: 0–100 km/h in 2.36 seconds and 0–400 meters in 9.78 seconds. Top speed is quoted at 309 km/h. An 80 kWh battery provides a CLTC-rated range of 450 km, positioning the U9 as a performance-first EV rather than a long-distance grand tourer.

The Xtreme Forest name ties directly to performance achievements rather than mechanical upgrades. YangWang references a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap time of 6 minutes 59.157 seconds and a recorded top speed of 496.22 km/h at Germany’s ATP test track, achievements that underpin the symbolic nature of this edition.

Interior Treatment and Presentation

Inside, the Xtreme Forest theme continues through coordinated interior color options. While YangWang has not detailed structural or ergonomic changes, the interior package is positioned as a visual counterpart to the exterior finish rather than a functional revision. Materials, layout, and technology appear consistent with the existing U9 specification.

This approach reinforces the idea that the U9’s cabin is already considered complete in YangWang’s eyes. The Xtreme Forest option exists to deepen the narrative rather than redefine the experience.

Market Positioning and Brand Strategy

With an official base price of 1.8 million yuan, the YangWang U9 already operates in a rarefied space. The Xtreme Forest specification brings it closer to the market for enthusiasts and collectors, where provenance and symbolism are just as important as quantifiable improvements.

YangWang has opted to celebrate its performance milestones through design rather than producing a track-focused version or power boost. By doing this, the U9 Xtreme Forest serves as a rolling statement piece—an electric hypercar that, instead of changing its hardware, enhances its credentials through color and context.
