2026 Xiaomi Vision GT Concept

• Debuted at Mobile World Congress 2026 in Barcelona instead of a traditional motor show.

Smartphones, AI demos, and updates on mobile ecosystems are what you usually expect to see when you visit Mobile World Congress but not hypercars.

That is precisely what Xiaomi did in Barcelona this year. Developed for the Vision Gran Turismo aspect of GT racing and focused on providing a digital experience, the Vision GT is not an EV for commuting or just to demonstrate how stunningly they look but a fully functional and fully electric hypercar.

Taking a look at the Vision GT instantly gives the feel of being a performance car. The snout is planted and low to the ground; the cabin is compact and well engineered or designed; the rear haunches seem to have mass that is fairly convincing.

The bodyshell has good clean transitional lines, all surfaces have been defined, with aerodynamic features of the vehicle appearing to be integrated as opposed to ornamental. The architectural shape of the overall vehicle is balanced toward providing a look of technological performance. In conclusion, the vehicle in question has been designed, manufactured and presented as first a performance vehicle but secondarily as technology demonstration for Xiaomi.

1,900 HP — At Least On Paper

According to published performance numbers released for the vehicle project, they show that this car may produce close to 1,900hp from an all electric system. While Xiaomi did not try to position this vehicle as a production car at this point and thus the performance numbers do not function as typical specifications, putting their Vision GT into this group gives a strong signal how much they wish to be recognized within the automotive industry. 

This is not a cautious brand extension, but instead a strong signal to the premium automobile sector they intend on being relevant in this market as well.

Straight Into Gran Turismo 7

As part of the long-running Vision Gran Turismo program, the Vision GT will feature heavily throughout Gran Turismo 7 along side similar concept vehicles from many prominent global manufacturers.

For Xiaomi, playing their Vision GT in Gran Turismo 7 will give them immediate worldwide coverage to an eager audience of enthusiasts.

Countless thousands of them will not only see their Vision GT as they play this game, but they will also become familiar with how this vehicle handles while playing Gran Turismo 7. By doing this through their own Vision GT, Xiaomi becomes the first Chinese company to ever enter into the Vision GT collection.

More Automotive Horizons
