The New Electrified Direction of the Tank 700 Hi4 Z
The 2026 WEY Tank 700 Hi4 Z adds a new plug-in hybrid version to the Tank lineup that aims to combine the presence of a traditional SUV with contemporary electrified capability.
The model follows the earlier Tank 700 Hi4-T but brings noticeable changes in both styling and cabin layout. Test drive units are expected to appear in dealerships during March as the vehicle prepares for wider availability.
The Tank brand has largely focused on large, rugged SUVs, and the Hi4 Z continues that identity. The difference now lies in the powertrain and interior technology, both of which move the vehicle further toward a more contemporary hybrid platform.
Exterior Design Emphasizes Presence and Scale
In official images, the Tank 700 Hi4 Z carries a clear visual weight. The body is upright, broad and square-shouldered, leaning toward the classic silhouette associated with off-road-oriented SUVs.
The front section is defined by a larger grille and blacked-out trim, combined with deeper air intakes in the bumper that give the nose a stronger visual impact. Small vents integrated into the hood add another performance-leaning detail.
A newly introduced blue paint finish softens the otherwise rugged exterior.
Size is part of the story here. The vehicle measures 5105 mm long, 2061 mm wide and 1985 mm tall, riding on a 3000 mm wheelbase that hints at a spacious interior layout.
At the rear, the design continues with air ducts built into the bumper and a roof spoiler stretching across the upper section of the tailgate. The side-opening tailgate remains, reinforcing the vehicle’s utilitarian roots.
A roof-mounted lidar unit is also visible, suggesting advanced driver-assistance systems are part of the package.
Cabin Layout Moves Toward Digital Simplicity
Inside, the Tank 700 Hi4 Z adopts a noticeably updated dashboard arrangement.
A fully digital instrument display sits in front of the driver, while a square floating infotainment screen occupies the center of the dashboard. The surrounding controls have been reshaped to create a cleaner, more technical layout.
Ambient lighting runs across the interior surfaces, adding a softer visual tone to what is otherwise a robust cabin design.
Seat construction appears substantial. Thick cushions and a two-tone color scheme suggest long-distance comfort is part of the focus. Rear passengers receive additional features including a folding ceiling-mounted screen, sunroof and second-row privacy curtains.
Plug In Hybrid System and Electric Range
Power for the Tank 700 Hi4 Z comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged plug-in hybrid system supported by a sizeable battery pack.
The engine itself produces 185 kW, working alongside a 59.05 kWh ternary lithium battery. Under WLTC testing conditions the SUV can travel up to 190 kilometers purely on electric power.
The listed fuel consumption of 8.45 L per 100 km represents the combined use of combustion and electric power sources.
The Package Continues to Include Practical Capability
The Tank 700 Hi4 Z maintains the useful nature one would expect from a large SUV despite its hybrid setup.
The vehicle's 750 kg towing capacity without brakes and 2500 kg with a braked trailer allow it to handle heavier loads when needed.
The intersection of electrification, luxury, and off-road presence is where the Hi4 Z finds itself in the increasingly crowded SUV market.It is large, visually assertive, and clearly aimed at buyers who want a hybrid SUV without sacrificing traditional size and capability.
For the Tank brand, the model continues the gradual shift toward electrified power while maintaining the identity that defines the lineup.
