2026 Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo LWB

The longer ID. Buzz Cargo expands load volume to 4.4 cubic meters, with a 2,458 mm long load floor and two sliding doors as standard.
Rear wheel drive produces 286 PS, while the 4MOTION version raises system output to 340 PS.
New features include Vehicle to Load, one pedal driving and Travel Assist with traffic light recognition.
The 2026 Volkswagen ID. Buzz Cargo range is expanding with a long wheelbase version aimed at operators needing more usable space without moving away from Volkswagen's electric van platform. The key change is straightforward: 250 mm has been added to the wheelbase and, consequently, the usable length of the cargo area.
Pre sales started in Germany on September 23, 2026. The 250 kW 4MOTION version is priced from €50,630 net, while the rear wheel drive model follows at €48,490 net. UK order books open in early 2027, with market introduction planned for spring.
Longer Body Creates A 4.4 Cubic Meter Load Bay
The ID. Buzz Cargo LWB gains an extra 0.5 cubic meters of cargo capacity, taking total volume to 4.4 cubic meters. Its load area measures 2,458 mm long, exactly 250 mm more than the standard wheelbase model, while width between the wheel housings is 1,230 mm.
The press image on page one shows how that extra length sits behind the cab while retaining the familiar upright ID. Buzz shape. Two sliding doors are now standard, and the opening is 19 cm wider, allowing a Euro pallet to pass through. A wooden load floor is included. Buyers can choose two or three seats up front.
Payload reaches 700 kg in rear wheel drive form or 606 kg with all wheel drive.
Bigger Battery And Up To 340 PS
The longer Cargo switches to an 86 kWh battery, compared with 79 kWh for the normal wheelbase version. Rear wheel drive models produce 210 kW, or 286 PS. Adding 4MOTION raises combined system output to 250 kW, equivalent to 340 PS.
Towing capacity is rated at 1,800 kg for a braked trailer on both 8 and 12 percent gradients. Buyers can also choose between the standard large tailgate and optional rear wing doors.
Vehicle To Load Adds Worksite Utility
Practical changes extend beyond the cargo bay. Vehicle to Load allows tools and other electrical equipment to draw power from the high voltage battery. Volkswagen quotes 3.0 kW for continuous operation or charging, with 3.6 kW peak output through its PowerSocket adapter.
One pedal driving is another addition, providing deceleration and energy recuperation down to a standstill using the accelerator. Optional Travel Assist can now recognize traffic lights and automatically brake the van to a stop at a red signal within system limits.
Updated Infotainment And Steering Wheel Controls
Inside, the ID. Buzz Cargo receives the Innovision infotainment system with an expanded app store covering functions including charging, parking, audio, video streaming and gaming. Newly designed physical buttons also return to the multifunction steering wheel, simplifying access to frequently used vehicle and infotainment functions.
With more cargo volume, a wider side opening and higher towing capability, the LWB version broadens the ID. Buzz Cargo's role for businesses needing additional carrying flexibility while retaining an electric drivetrain.
