  • Limited 2026 Volkswagen Amarok Dark Label V6 run of 200 units in Australia.
  • Distinctive design package with matte black wheels, sports bar and darkened lighting.
  • Powered by the 3.0-litre TDI V6 with permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive.

Dark Label V6 Brings a New Look to the Amarok Range

The 2026 Volkswagen Amarok Dark Label V6 arrives as one of the most visually distinctive versions of the brand’s dual-cab pickup yet. It forms part of the MY26 update for the Amarok lineup in Australia, which also introduces a revised model structure and a stronger emphasis on V6 powertrains.

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles describes the changes as a response to feedback gathered from Amarok owners and dealers over more than 15 years of the model’s presence in Australia. The result is a simplified range designed to make the most popular configurations easier to identify.

Within that refreshed lineup, the Dark Label V6 sits as a limited special edition. Production will be capped at 200 units nationally for MY26, positioning it as a collector-leaning variant rather than a permanent addition to the range.

Black Accented Styling Defines the Exterior

Visually, the Dark Label V6 focuses on contrast and darker finishes rather than structural changes to the Amarok’s design.

The pickup rides on 20-inch matte black Bendigo alloy wheels, giving the vehicle a broader stance within its wheel arches. Lighting also adopts a darker theme, with IQ.Light LED Matrix headlights featuring black surrounds and darkened tail lamps.

Across the bodywork, black detailing continues with door handles, mirrors, side steps and the rear bumper finished in black, while a powder-coated black sports bar rises behind the cabin. A black front skid plate and roof rails reinforce the rugged visual identity.

Volkswagen has also added a distinctive Dark Label sticker package, applied to the bonnet, doors, tub sides and tailgate, giving the edition its own graphic signature within the Amarok family.

Taken together, the treatment gives the pickup a noticeably darker and more assertive look compared with the standard Amarok variants.

Cabin and Practical Equipment

While the Dark Label focuses primarily on exterior character, the model retains the Amarok’s familiar cabin layout and utility-focused interior.

Practical features include a spray-in tub liner and a black tonneau cover, both intended to protect cargo and maintain usability for work or recreational travel.

V6 Diesel Power and a 4MOTION Drivetrain

The company's 3.0-liter TDI600 V6 diesel engine, mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission and permanent 4MOTION all-wheel drive, continues to power the 2026 Volkswagen Amarok Dark Label V6.

Volkswagen has increasingly leaned into this powertrain across the MY26 lineup, reflecting its popularity among Australian buyers who favour strong towing performance and long-distance capability.

The company positions the Amarok as a driver-focused ute, highlighting its steering feel, ride quality and handling balance compared with many competitors in the segment.

Position in the MY26 Amarok Lineup

The Dark Label V6 is one of the headline additions to the MY26 Amarok story, sitting alongside the upcoming Amarok W600, developed locally with Walkinshaw Automotive Group.

More broadly, Volkswagen has reorganised the Amarok lineup to make the range easier to navigate. The MY26 portfolio now places clearer emphasis on key models such as Style, PanAmericana, Aventura and the V6-powered Dark Label.

For Australian dual-cab buyers, the Dark Label V6 represents a more expressive take on the Amarok formula. Same mechanical foundations, but wrapped in a darker, more distinctive package.
