2026 Vauxhall STX Concept

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Vauxhall STX Concept previews the brand's future electric estate design, introducing a revised Vizor front and a new Griffin emblem.

  • Active aerodynamic features include extendable rear diffusers, movable airflow elements and three section alloy wheels fitted with 22 inch Goodyear tyres.

  • The electric concept features all wheel drive and a top speed exceeding 124 mph.

Vauxhall STX Concept Brings a New Look to Estate Cars

The 2026 Vauxhall STX Concept has been revealed ahead of its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, offering an early look at how the British brand sees the future of electric estate cars.

Short for Sports Tourer eXperimental, the STX continues Vauxhall's long association with practical estate models, including the current Astra Sports Tourer. This time, however, the focus extends beyond luggage space to aerodynamics, lighting technology and a revised exterior identity.

The concept also introduces the company's redesigned Griffin emblem, which will appear on its next all new production model in 2027.

New Vizor Front and Illuminated Griffin Badge

The STX develops Vauxhall's familiar Vizor front into a taller, more prominent arrangement. Angled vertical lighting elements form the outer edges before gradually fading toward the centre.

Sitting between them is the illuminated Griffin emblem, now featuring a sharper design without the traditional flag.

The bonnet carries a defined central crease, while the clean front surfaces give the concept a broad appearance.

At the rear, the roofline slopes downward toward a relatively upright tail, retaining the load carrying character expected of an estate.

Slim horizontal taillights surround an illuminated VAUXHALL wordmark. Glass lighting strips also extend from the C pillars into the roof, adding another distinctive detail.

Low Estate Profile With Active Aerodynamics

Seen from the side, the silver and blue STX has a long, low silhouette, short overhangs and pronounced wheel arches.

Instead of conventional mirrors, small cameras sit on geometrically shaped supports. Illuminated STX lettering also appears along the body sides.

The three section alloy wheels reference designs used on earlier Vauxhall models, including the Nova and original Corsa. They are fitted with 285/35 R22 Goodyear tyres.

Aerodynamic changes continue underneath. At suitable speeds, blue diffuser sections extend from the rear, while vertical elements behind the wheels move outward to help manage airflow.

These features are intended to improve stability and reduce drag during higher speed driving.

Electric All Wheel Drive and Interior Development

The STX uses an electric architecture with all wheel drive, and Vauxhall quotes a top speed exceeding 124 mph.

The manufacturer has not disclosed battery capacity, motor output, charging performance or estimated driving range.

Interior development follows the Painting with Light approach previously explored in the 2023 Vauxhall Experimental and 2025 Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo concepts.

Vauxhall describes lightweight seating and immersive lighting as part of the intended cabin direction, although detailed interior specifications have not been released.

Future Vauxhall Models and Estate Practicality

The STX is primarily a design study rather than a confirmed production estate.

Its descending rear profile has been developed to retain practical luggage space, though Vauxhall has not provided boot capacity or passenger accommodation figures.

Elements of its exterior design, particularly the updated Griffin emblem, are expected to influence upcoming production vehicles.

For now, the STX offers a look at how Vauxhall intends to develop its Sports Tourer heritage as its electric lineup evolves.
