The 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross Nightshade introduces a darker, more deliberate character to Toyota’s compact SUV line-up in Thailand. Based on the standard Yaris Cross hybrid, the Nightshade edition layers a comprehensive black styling package over an already upright, urban-friendly silhouette.
At the front, a new Metro Stylish grille design sets the tone. Gloss-black 18-inch alloy wheels replace the standard finish, while black mirror caps, lower bumper trims, side skirts and fog lamp surrounds sharpen the stance. Even the tailgate garnish and window surrounds adopt a smoked chrome treatment.
Two exterior colour choices are offered: the new Cement Gray Metallic with a black roof, and Platinum White Pearl with a black roof. The contrast roof emphasises the Yaris Cross’ tall cabin and compact overhangs, visually lowering the mass and tightening proportions. The effect is cohesive rather than ornamental.
Hybrid Efficiency and Driving Modes
Under the bonnet, the 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross Nightshade retains the familiar 1.5-litre hybrid powertrain paired with a lithium-ion battery and e-CVT transmission. Three drive modes—Power, Normal and Eco—allow drivers to tailor response to conditions.
Maximum fuel consumption is rated at 26.3 km/l, according to Eco Sticker certification. The hybrid system, marketed under Toyota Trusted Hybrid, benefits from over 15 years of local hybrid experience in Thailand. Acceleration is described as responsive, with low cabin noise characteristic of Toyota’s electrified set-up.
Subject to routine maintenance, Toyota offers a five-year warranty for the hybrid system and a ten-year warranty for the hybrid battery.
Panoramic Roof and Interior Equipment
The interior of the 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross Nightshade is all black.
A powered tailgate with kick activation enhances functionality, and a fixed-type panoramic roof with an electric sunshade adds light overhead. Wireless smartphone charging and a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard.
The driver benefits from an eight-way power-adjustable seat. Rear luggage capacity stands at 452 litres, maintaining the Yaris Cross’ everyday usability.
Toyota Safety Sense and Connected Technology
Safety remains central. The Nightshade is equipped with Toyota Safety Sense, including Pre-Collision System, Lane Departure Alert with steering assist, Lane Keeping Control, Adaptive Cruise Control with All-Speed functionality, Auto High Beam, Front Departure Alert and Pedal Misoperation Control.
Blind Spot Monitor and Rear Cross Traffic Alert are included, along with a Panoramic View Monitor for low-speed manoeuvring. The T-Connect system provides real-time vehicle tracking, theft monitoring, SOS emergency assistance and geo-fencing functions.
