Talos Turns A GT3 RS Into Something More Extreme
Restomods and reimagined Porsches are nothing new anymore. But the 2026 Talos Porsche 911 RT feels slightly different from the usual formula.
Rather than chasing nostalgia alone, Talos appears focused on recreating the atmosphere of an actual race car that happens to remain road legal. The British company describes the 911 RT as “a true race car for the road,” and looking through the details, that description does not feel particularly exaggerated.
Limited to only 20 units worldwide, the RT draws inspiration from the legendary Porsche 911 R race car while using a modern GT3 RS platform underneath. The visual connection is intentional. Talos says the car retains an “almost identical visual presence” to the original competition machine, though the engineering underneath has been extensively reworked for road use.
Every example will also be individually commissioned and customized directly with the owner, meaning no two cars are expected to leave Talos looking exactly alike.
That level of personalization has become increasingly common in the ultra-low-volume supercar world, though Talos seems to lean harder into craftsmanship than outright extravagance.
Carbon Bodywork Defines The Exterior
Visually, the 911 RT is not subtle.
Talos used advanced 3D scanning to digitally capture the original race car proportions before adapting the surfaces around a modern GT3 RS chassis. The result is a body that feels much more old-school motorsport than modern supercar.
Extensive exposed carbon-fibre body panels dominate the exterior. Developed alongside motorsport specialist MCT Carbon, the lightweight construction reduces overall weight by approximately 80 kg compared with the standard Porsche GT3 RS donor vehicle.
The aerodynamics package is equally aggressive.
Massive rear aero surfaces, centre-lock wheel hardware, and widened body sections make the RT look closer to an endurance racer than a traditional road-going 911. The proportions remain compact and unmistakably Porsche, though the entire stance feels stretched lower and visually more purposeful than the already extreme GT3 RS.
Talos also says final paint specifications and exterior finishes will be developed directly alongside customers during the commissioning process.
Interior Balances Race Car Intent With Road Comfort
Inside, the RT takes a more restrained approach.
Talos says the cabin was engineered to balance motorsport focus with a more modern road-car environment. Materials, colours, and finishes will all be individually selected through consultation with owners, reinforcing the bespoke nature of the project.
There are no giant touchscreen headlines or futuristic design experiments mentioned here. Instead, the emphasis appears centered around tactility, driver engagement, and craftsmanship.
That probably suits the personality of the car better anyway.
Suspension And Powertrain Focus On Driver Feel
Mechanically, Talos seems careful not to overcomplicate the Porsche formula.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated flat-six producing approximately 540 bhp. Rather than chasing headline power figures, Talos says the engine was tuned specifically around response, reliability, and progressive delivery.
The suspension system may actually be the more interesting part.
Developed alongside Öhlins, the RT uses a bespoke digital TTX suspension setup designed to balance sharp handling with road usability. Drivers can even adjust the electronically controlled dampers directly through smartphone controls, giving the car an unusual blend of analogue inspiration and modern tuning flexibility.
Pricing starts at £850,000 before the donor car itself is included.
For most buyers, that probably places the Talos 911 RT firmly into collector territory.
But then again, Talos never really intended this to be ordinary.
