2026 Suzuki Across PHEV

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • New 2.5L plug-in hybrid system with integrated 22.7kWh battery.

  • E-Four electric all-wheel drive with dedicated TRAIL mode.

  • Updated digital cockpit with 12.3-inch cluster and 12.9-inch infotainment.

Refined Exterior with Stronger SUV Identity

The 2026 Suzuki Across arrives with measured updates that reinforce its position as the brand’s flagship plug-in hybrid SUV. The proportions remain familiar—4,600mm long, 1,855mm wide and 1,685mm tall, riding on a 2,690mm wheelbase—but the detailing sharpens its presence.

A raised-profile front grille, clean but assertive body lines and squared wheel arches emphasize the Across’s off-road credentials. The wide track and 18-inch wheels contribute to a stable, planted stance. New exterior colours—White, Grey and Green—join Black, broadening visual choice without altering the SUV’s robust character.

The overall impression is purposeful rather than decorative. It remains unmistakably a Suzuki SUV, designed to look capable on varied terrain rather than confined to urban streets.

Digital Integration and Cabin Layout

The interior design of the 2026 Suzuki Across uses a "suspended effect" concept, concentrating all of the controls and major digital interfaces into one visual area. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster sits behind the steering wheel, while a 12.9-inch infotainment display handles navigation, media and climate functions.

While the passenger seat can be adjusted in eight different ways, the driver's seat has a 10-way electric adjustment with memory for two positions. Three-level heating is available on both front seats. Synthetic leather and fabric are combined in upholstery to balance comfort and durability.

Practicality remains central. The boot provides 446 litres (VDA) with rear seats upright, and the power tailgate includes a hands-free sensor function. When folded, the rear seats create an almost flat load surface, supporting the Across’s role as a family-oriented SUV.

New Generation Plug In Hybrid System

Beneath the surface, the 2026 Suzuki Across features a new-generation plug-in hybrid system built around a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine (A25A-FXS) paired with electric motors front and rear.

The petrol engine produces 105kW at 4,800rpm and 227Nm at 3,200rpm, using both direct and indirect injection. The front electric motor delivers 150kW and 271Nm, while the rear unit contributes 40kW and 123Nm. Power is managed through an E-CVT transmission and Suzuki’s AllGrip E-Four system.

A small eAxle with a DC/DC converter and Power Control Unit is integrated with a 22.7kWh battery. Silicon carbide semiconductors are used to increase overall efficiency and decrease energy losses.

This segment's performance metrics are competitive. The Across can reach a maximum speed of 180 km/h and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds.

Driver Assistance and AllGrip E Four

By continuously controlling the torque distribution between the front and rear axles, the AllGrip E-Four system improves traction while preserving efficiency. In addition to NORMAL, ECO and SPORT modes, a dedicated TRAIL mode fixes torque distribution and integrates braking and traction control for improved grip on low-adhesion surfaces

Advanced safety systems include Pre-Collision System with Emergency Steering Assist, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control with Eco Run, Lane Tracing Assist, Front Cross Traffic Alert and a 360-degree camera. Seven airbags and a high-strength steel body structure underline the Across’s safety credentials.
