The 2026 Smart No.6 feels like a quiet reset for the brand. It’s no longer about compact urban mobility. This is a full-sized sedan, built to sit in a very different part of the market.

That shift is obvious the moment you look at it. The proportions, the stance, even the way the body sits on its wheels. It’s not trying to be small anymore.

Sporty design replaces simplicity

Up front, the car introduces a new look for Smart. A full-width light strip stretches across the nose, sitting above a three-part intake design that adds some visual depth.

It’s a cleaner approach, but there’s more intent in it. The design feels tighter, less playful than earlier models.

From the side, the roofline slopes gently toward the rear. Not dramatic, just enough to give the car a slightly fastback feel. The body sides are smooth, without heavy sculpting, but the rear arches flare just enough to give it a bit more presence.

At the back, the same light-bar theme continues, paired with a concave tail section that catches light differently depending on the angle. It’s a simple trick, but it works.

Proportions built for space and balance

At 4.9 metres long with a nearly 3-metre wheelbase, the No.6 is firmly in mid-size sedan territory.

That length shows in the way the car sits. The wheels are pushed outward, the overhangs are controlled, and the overall shape feels stable rather than stretched.

It doesn’t try to exaggerate its size. Instead, it leans into balance. Something that should translate well both visually and in motion.

Cabin still a bit of a question mark

There’s less detail around the interior for now. What stands out is the presence of LiDAR mounted on the roof, which hints at a more advanced driver assistance system than previous Smart models.

That usually means more reliance on software, sensors, and automation. Exactly how that plays out inside hasn’t been fully shown yet.

Under the skin, the No.6 uses a plug-in hybrid system built around a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine.

Battery options vary. The smaller pack offers around 110 km of electric driving, while the larger one pushes that figure to roughly 234 km.

That’s enough to cover most daily driving without using fuel, while still keeping the option for longer trips without planning charging stops.

The 2026 Smart No.6 doesn’t try to redefine what a sedan is. It simply moves the brand into a space it hasn’t occupied before.
