An update shaped by local success

The 2026 Škoda Kushaq arrives as a carefully judged evolution rather than a reset. Since its debut in 2021, the compact SUV has become a cornerstone of Škoda Auto India’s strategy, with more than 94,900 units sold and exports reaching markets such as Vietnam, the Middle East, and Africa.

Building directly on that base, this update adds features and improvements influenced by usage patterns and feedback from Indian customers.

Škoda positions the revised Kushaq as a continuation of its “made in India, for India” philosophy, while also underlining the country’s growing role as a global export base.

Exterior design adopts Modern Solid cues

Visually, the Kushaq now incorporates elements of Škoda’s Modern Solid design language. The most noticeable change is at the front, where an all-new grille with chrome ribs is paired with an illuminated light band. Updated LED headlights, front parking sensors, and LED fog lamps modernise the face without altering the SUV’s familiar proportions.

At the rear, connected taillights with sequential indicators are joined by illuminated Škoda lettering stretching across the tailgate. The side profile remains clean and upright, with cladding around the wheel arches and sills reinforcing its SUV stance. Alloy wheels are now standard on all variants, and the colour palette expands to eight options, including new shades such as Shimla Green, Steel Grey, and Cherry Red. For the first time, the Monte Carlo trim is available from launch.

Turbocharged engines and a new automatic option

Under the skin, the Kushaq retains its turbocharged petrol focus but expands choice. The 1.0 TSI engine produces 85 kW and 178 Nm of torque and is now offered with a segment-first eight-speed torque-converter automatic, alongside a six-speed manual option. This new transmission is positioned as a smoother, more relaxed alternative for everyday driving.

The 1.5 TSI continues as the more performance-oriented option, delivering 110 kW and 250 Nm. This four-cylinder engine features Active Cylinder Technology and is paired exclusively with a seven-speed DSG. On these variants, disc brakes are fitted on all four wheels. Ground clearance remains at 188 mm, maintaining suitability for uneven road conditions.

Interior comfort and technology take a step forward

Inside, the updates focus on comfort and daily usability. A new panoramic sunroof, dual-colour ambient lighting, and six-way electric front seats with ventilation raise the sense of quality. Boot capacity stands at 491 litres, expandable to 1,405 litres with the rear seats folded, supporting family and travel needs.

The focal point of technology is a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A new AI-powered voice assistant, developed with Google Automotive AI Agent technology, brings context-aware voice control and is tuned to recognise Indian English accents, aiming for intuitive, hands-free interaction.

Safety and positioning in the segment

Safety remains a strong pillar. The updated Kushaq meets five-star Global NCAP standards and offers more than 25 active and passive safety features as standard, including six airbags. Higher variants extend this to over 40 safety-related features. Practical additions such as a rear wiper, rear defogger, and rain-sensing wipers are now available across the range.
