2026 Skoda Kamiq 130 Years Edition

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Limited-run 130 Years Edition sits above the Kamiq Monte Carlo with unique design and upgraded kit.

  • Powered by the familiar 1.5-litre turbocharged engine delivering 110 kW and 250 Nm through a seven-speed DSG.

  • Launches in Australia at AUD 44,990, blending anniversary detailing with the practicality Skoda is known for.

A Special Edition with History Behind It

Few brands in today’s crowded compact SUV space can claim 130 years of history. Skoda can — and it’s marking the milestone with this: the Kamiq 130 Years Edition. Effectively a more generously equipped Monte Carlo, the anniversary model brings in exclusive styling flourishes and a comprehensive kit list to underline its status at the top of the Kamiq range.

Exterior Tweaks: Subtle but Distinct

The changes aren’t radical, but they’re noticeable. The 130 Years Edition rides on 19-inch Fornax alloy wheels, features chrome roof rails and window surrounds, and carries 130 Years badging. Tinted rear glass and matrix LED headlights with cornering function add a touch of theatre. It’s not trying to reinvent the Kamiq’s design, just sharpen it for a celebratory edition.

Engine and Performance: Familiar Setup

Under the bonnet sits Skoda’s well-proven 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder, producing 110 kW and 250 Nm. Power is delivered through a seven-speed dual-clutch DSG. There’s no increase in output compared with the Monte Carlo, but that’s not the point here — it’s about offering the best of the Kamiq line in a neatly packaged special edition. Performance remains more than adequate for its compact SUV brief, with smooth delivery and efficient consumption.

Inside: Premium Touches and Useful Tech

Where the Kamiq 130 Years Edition stands apart is inside the cabin. A 10-inch digital cockpit pairs with a 9.2-inch infotainment screen, complete with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Comfort upgrades are everywhere: heated steering wheel with paddle shifters, heated outboard seats front and rear, power-adjustable driver’s seat with memory and lumbar support, and wireless phone charging.

There’s also a 10-speaker Canton premium audio system, plus ambient LED lighting and trim in a mix of Alcantara and leather. Small details like an auto-dimming rear-view mirror and thoughtful Skoda practicality touches — door-bin waste basket, removable boot mat, extra storage nets — make it clear this is a top-spec Kamiq designed with daily life in mind.

Safety and Assistance

Skoda’s Travel Assist package is standard here, bundling adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, and emergency assist into a cohesive system. The Kamiq already has a strong safety record, and with nine airbags plus proximity and traffic alerts, the 130 Years Edition reinforces that reputation.

Price and Market Placement

Skoda has priced the Kamiq 130 Years Edition at AUD 44,990 before on-road costs in Australia. That’s only about $1,100 more than the Monte Carlo on which it’s based. Deliveries start in November 2025, and the positioning is clear: this is a celebratory flagship that adds style and luxury without straying into luxury-brand territory.
