2026 Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Regatta

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • One-off Phantom Extended celebrates the sailing heritage of England's South Coast.

  • Bespoke cabin features hand-painted artwork, yacht-inspired woodwork, and a unique Starlight Headliner.

  • The commission will make its public debut at the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The 2026 Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Regatta isn't a new production model. Instead, it's a one-of-one Bespoke commission that tells a story through colour, craftsmanship and carefully chosen materials. Created at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, the car takes its inspiration from the sailing culture of England's South Coast, particularly the Solent, Chichester Harbour and the famous Cowes Week regatta. It will be unveiled during the 2026 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Exterior Inspired by Coastal Waters

At first glance, the Phantom Extended Regatta looks elegant even by Rolls-Royce standards, but spending a little more time with it reveals how much thought has gone into its design.

The body wears a hand-laid two-tone finish in Regatta Blue over English White, echoing the point where a yacht's hull meets the sea. The polished 22-inch disc wheels continue the maritime theme, reflecting the appearance of polished steel winches found aboard racing yachts. Rather than relying on dramatic styling changes, Rolls-Royce has used subtle details to create a clear connection with the world of sailing.

A Cabin That Feels Like a Luxury Yacht

Open the doors and the nautical inspiration becomes even more obvious.

The front seats are trimmed in Navy Blue leather, while the rear compartment switches to Grace White, creating the impression of deep water beneath bright sails. Turquoise RR monograms, dual-tone stitching and matching steering wheel accents add small flashes of colour without overwhelming the calm atmosphere.

One of the standout features is the pair of handcrafted picnic tables. Made from Royal Walnut and Black Bolivar wood, each surface is assembled from 16 individually matched wooden planks, carefully arranged to resemble the deck of a classic yacht. Rolls-Royce says completing these tables alone required around 120 hours of craftsmanship.

Bespoke Details Take Centre Stage

The most distinctive element inside the 2026 Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Regatta stretches across the dashboard. Called Watercolour, the hand-painted Gallery artwork captures the movement of waves using a painting technique developed specifically for this commission after weeks of testing.

Above it, a Bespoke Starlight Headliner uses 1,307 individually placed fibre-optic lights arranged to represent the tidal currents surrounding the Isle of Wight. Even the air vents hide a thoughtful detail, with engraved coordinates marking both Goodwood House and the Home of Rolls-Royce, quietly linking the car to the place where it was created.

Performance Takes a Back Seat to Craftsmanship

Rolls-Royce has not announced any mechanical changes for this one-off Phantom Extended. The focus remains firmly on design, craftsmanship and personalization rather than performance upgrades. The press material includes standard technical consumption and emissions figures but introduces no unique powertrain modifications for the Regatta commission.

A Showcase for Bespoke Possibilities

The 2026 Rolls-Royce Phantom Extended Regatta demonstrates what the company's Bespoke division can achieve when given complete creative freedom. Rather than creating another limited edition, Rolls-Royce has produced a single motor car that reflects the colours, textures and atmosphere of the English coastline through paint, leather, wood and metal. It serves as a rolling tribute to the waters surrounding Goodwood while highlighting the level of personalization available to Phantom clients.
