2026 Renault Kiger
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 25, 2025
Redesigned front end with bigger grille, new DRL signature, and reshaped bumpers.
Cabin tweaks include upgraded materials and fabrics, same 8-inch screen and digital cluster.
Engines unchanged: 1.0L NA petrol at 72 hp, 1.0L turbo petrol at 100 hp, manual, AMT, and CVT options.
A More Assertive Front End
The 2026 Renault Kiger doesn’t throw away its formula, but the changes are noticeable. The front grille is wider, framed by a secondary grille with the brand badge sitting squarely in place. Daytime running lights get a cleaner LED outline, and the bumpers have been reshaped to give the SUV a little more authority when viewed head-on. Around the back, the bumper has been re-cut too, though proportions stay familiar.
New alloy wheels come with the update, though Renault hasn’t gone into detail on sizing. Overall, the facelift looks sharper, without disturbing the Kiger’s compact stance that’s worked well in the sub-4-meter segment.
Inside the Updated Cabin
The cabin hasn’t been overhauled, but there are enough adjustments to keep it feeling fresh. The familiar 8-inch touchscreen sits proud on the dash, paired with a digital driver display. Renault has reworked seat fabrics and surface trims, improving how the cabin looks and feels at first touch.
Higher trims continue with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus the same feature set as before. A sunroof still isn’t offered, a reminder that Renault is keeping its cost priorities steady in this class.
Engine Lineup Carries Forward
Mechanically, nothing changes. The 2026 Kiger still offers the 1.0-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine with 72 hp, available with a five-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The step-up option remains the 1.0-liter turbo petrol producing 100 hp, paired either with a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic.
No diesel, no hybrid, no EV for now—just the same compact petrol lineup that’s powered the Kiger since its launch. Renault has kept the drivetrains predictable and affordable, which helps it stay competitive against Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue.
Size, Space, and Practicality
Dimensionally, the Kiger continues unchanged. It measures 3,991 mm long, 1,750 mm wide, 1,605 mm tall, and sits on a 2,500 mm wheelbase. It’s a five-seat SUV, still playing within the sub-4-meter tax bracket.
Boot capacity stays at 405 liters, with the option to expand up to 879 liters by folding the rear seats. Inside the cabin, Renault highlights usable storage: 14.9 liters in glove boxes, 7.5 liters in the center console, and useful knee and elbow room at the back. Rear passengers benefit from 222 mm of knee clearance and a flat floor, details that matter in a car aimed at families who want space packed into a small footprint.
The facelift is expected to roll into showrooms before Diwali 2025. Renault will keep positioning the Kiger as a value-driven option among compact SUVs. Prices are likely to start around ₹6.3 lakh ex-showroom for the base petrol model, climbing to about ₹11.3 lakh for the fully equipped turbo-CVT trims.
