2026 RAM Rampage RT

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • First European appearance of the Brazilian-built 2026 RAM Rampage.

  • Two versions: Rebel (diesel, off-road) and R/T (gasoline, sport).

  • Compact premium pickup with Level 2 driver assistance and 4x4 system.

A New Kind of RAM for Europe

At the 2025 edition of Fieracavalli in Verona, RAM officially presented the 2026 Rampage — a compact premium pickup designed to bridge the gap between SUVs and traditional mid-size trucks.

This European debut marks the brand’s intent to expand beyond its North and South American core, introducing a product engineered for both daily comfort and recreational versatility.

Built entirely in Brazil, the Rampage is RAM’s first compact lifestyle truck. It targets a new audience seeking SUV-like maneuverability with the toughness and utility that define the brand’s larger pickups. Fabio Catonnee, Head of RAM Brand Enlarged Europe, described it as “a statement of lifestyle — strength, performance, and exclusivity designed for European drivers.”

Two Versions, Two Personalities

The lineup features two distinct characters. The Rebel is the off-road specialist, powered by a 2.2-liter Multijet Turbo Diesel delivering 200 hp and 450 Nm, paired with full-time 4x4 and a nine-speed automatic gearbox. It is designed to withstand gravel, mud, and uneven terrain thanks to its reinforced bumpers, 235/65 R17 wheels, and all-terrain Pirelli Seal Inside tires.

The R/T is the road-focused counterpart, powered by the 2.0-liter Hurricane 4 Turbo Gasoline engine producing 272 hp and 400 Nm. It rides lower — 10 mm closer to the ground — with firmer suspension, 19-inch wheels, and an electronically tuned Sport mode. Acceleration from 0–100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds, and top speed is limited to 220 km/h.

Both variants share a mechanical layout that prioritizes balance: multi-link suspension at both axles, ventilated disc brakes, hill descent control, and hill start assist.

Proportions and Presence

The Rampage’s form follows its function. Measuring 5,028 mm long, 1,886 mm wide, and 1,716 mm high, it strikes an ideal middle ground — urban-friendly yet visually assertive.

The front fascia carries RAM’s signature sculpted grille and full-LED lighting, while the rear lamps, when illuminated, recall the U.S. The flag's pattern of stars and stripes is a subtly homage to the brand's origins.

Its practicality is increased by the 980-liter cargo bed, which can easily hold both work and recreational equipment.

A Surprising Cabin

The Rampage deviates from utilitarian standards inside. Soft-touch leather and suede are the most common materials, and the craftsmanship tends to be more expensive. Both models have a 10.3-inch digital cluster and a 12.3-inch central display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The cabin's ambience is enhanced by the 35-liter internal storage, the 9-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and the ambient LED lighting.

Distinct details separate the trims — the R/T’s sport steering wheel and red stitching contrast with the Rebel’s washable, outdoor-oriented surfaces.

Technology and Safety

The Rampage is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, including Active Driver Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Highway Assist. These systems adjust speed, lane position, and spacing autonomously while monitoring driver input via Hands-Off Detection. The safety suite also includes automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive cruise control

RAM’s debut at Fieracavalli — complete with sponsorship of equestrian teams — signals a strategic move to align its rugged image with lifestyle and performance audiences. The 2026 RAM Rampage, compact yet confident, looks ready to carry that message beyond Verona.
