Porsche Turned Jessie Into a 911 Targa and It Works

When Porsche announced a trio of Toy Story themed 911s, it would have been easy to imagine something playful and over the top. The Jessie car takes a different route. Based on a 2026 Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS, the one-off creation uses color, trim, and material choices to reference the character without turning the sports car into a movie prop.

Unveiled at the world premiere of Toy Story 5 in Los Angeles, the Targa is one of three Sonderwunsch projects inspired by Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie. All three will eventually be sold to support charitable organizations in the United States.

The Details Tell The Story

In photos, the Jessie inspired Targa looks surprisingly restrained from a distance. The body is finished in a bespoke shade called Jessie White Metallic, a pearl-effect paint developed specifically for the project. Look closer and the references become easier to spot.

Blue lower body sections mirror elements of Jessie's outfit, while Atacama Yellow accents and red pinstriping add contrast around the front lid and rear deck area. The red Targa roof is perhaps the most obvious nod to the character, echoing the color of Jessie's hat. Porsche even replaced the standard Targa script with "Jessie" lettering on the roll bar.

A Cabin Inspired By Western Wear

The interior is where the designers appear to have had the most fun.

Dark Night Blue, Bordeaux Red, and Pebble Grey leather cover much of the cabin, but the standout feature is a custom denim-look fabric developed specifically for the project. It's used on the seat centers and door inserts as a reference to the jeans worn by Jessie and Woody throughout the films.

There are smaller details scattered throughout the cabin. Cowhide-pattern floor mats reference Jessie's western outfit, while illuminated door sills greet occupants with a simple "YEE HAW!" message. It sounds gimmicky on paper, yet somehow fits the character of the car.

Underneath all the custom work remains a 532 hp 911 Targa 4 GTS, complete with options such as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, InnoDrive, and a front axle lift system. Porsche left the mechanical package largely untouched, focusing instead on craftsmanship and storytelling.

That decision may be what makes the Jessie car the most convincing of the three. Rather than dressing a 911 as a cartoon character, Porsche treated the character as a design brief and let the details do the talking.
