2026 Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Pagani strips the roof off its long-tail Huayra, revealing the Codalunga Speedster

  • The design is driven by art and aero, not compromise

  • Production is capped at just five units, all already spoken for

A Roadster Born from Sculpture and Speed

Pagani has unveiled the 2026 Huayra Codalunga Speedster, and in typical Pagani fashion, it’s less about spec sheets and more about shaping air and emotion. Based on the coupe introduced in 2022, the Speedster takes the same longtail design—already rare, already eccentric—and tears off the roof for something even more elemental. Only five will be made. They're all gone.

Proportions That Push the Norm

At first glance, the proportions are still striking. The rear stretches far past what most would consider reasonable, but that’s part of the point. It's meant to look like it was pulled from a wind tunnel sketchpad and frozen in carbon fiber. From the nose back to the windshield, it’s familiar Huayra. But aft of that, the car elongates dramatically. The roof is gone. The flying buttresses are gone. In their place is open sky, twin carbon humps, and a commitment to purity that few modern cars dare chase.

A Tribute to 1960s Coachbuilt Racers

Horacio Pagani refers to it as an homage to the 1960s coachbuilt racers—Le Mans-inspired, but dressed for Milan. And yeah, it shows. There's elegance to the restraint. No active aero. No oversized wing. Just clean, flowing form, with the quad exhausts sitting like cannon barrels in the middle of it all.

Lightweight, Powerful, and Not About the Numbers

Pagani says the car weighs just 1,280 kg. That’s less than most hatchbacks. Beneath the skin sits the same AMG-sourced 6.0-liter V12 with 840 hp and 1,100 Nm of torque. But if you’re here for performance figures, you’re in the wrong place. This isn’t about lap times or Nürburgring records. It’s about building a car that looks like it drove off a poster taped to a teenager’s wall—if that teenager had impeccable taste and a bottomless bank account.

A Cabin Built for the Senses

Inside, it’s all tailored leather, exposed gear linkage, and analog soul. The wraparound cockpit still feels like a watchmaker’s bench—delicate yet purposeful. You get the sense it was designed with a brush, not a mouse.

Few True Rivals, Even Fewer Made

In terms of rivals, there really aren’t many. The Ferrari Daytona SP3 comes to mind, maybe the Aston Martin DBR22. But even those feel too mainstream. This Pagani isn’t trying to outgun anyone. It’s a road-going art piece for collectors who already know everyone by first name at customs.

Built by Hand, Never Repeated

The Speedster was built entirely to client requests—just five of them—and took two years of co-development with Pagani Grandi Complicazioni, the brand’s special projects division. Each one will be different. Each one will vanish into private collections, rarely spotted, never repeated.

So no, you won’t see one at your local cars and coffee. But maybe that’s the point. The 2026 Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster is a disappearing act. One final, beautiful breath of old-world craftsmanship before everything goes silent.
