2026 Opel Mokka GSE
By Lorenzo Bianchi July 24, 2025
Opel brings a sharper, faster flavor to the electric Mokka with the GSE trim
Visual updates include contrasting roof, GSe badging, and 19-inch wheels
Tuned chassis and quicker steering give it more bite than the standard model
Design That Hints at Rally Roots
The 2026 Opel Mokka GSE doesn't hide its attitude. The body feels more sculpted overall—sharper creases down the flanks, beefed-up wheel arches, and compact proportions that make it look eager. That front bumper with a wide lower grille isn’t just for show—it hints at serious cooling needs. LED Matrix IntelliLux headlights add tech flair, while the rear ride sits solid, thanks to 20‑inch sport wheels and flared shoulders. It’s still a Mokka, but with a focused, athletic stance.
EV Heart with Rally DNA
Under the hood sits a single front-mounted electric motor cranking out 280 hp (207 kW) and 345 Nm of torque. That’s a big jump from the standard 156 hp Mokka-e. Opel claims 0–100 km/h in 5.9 seconds, with a top speed limited to 200 km/h—making it the fastest battery-powered Opel yet. What seals the deal: a Torsen limited-slip differential, specially tuned suspension with double hydraulic dampers, and beefed-up brakes—think 380 mm discs with four-piston calipers up front. Pure rally inspiration.
Interior: Sporty but Daily-Friendly
Inside feels like a proper driver’s cockpit. The steering wheel is flattened top and bottom, while yellow-accented Alcantara trim nods to the rally theme. Aluminum pedals and a digital cockpit displaying G‑forces and battery status reinforce the performance intent. It’s sporty without being overbearing—no gimmicks, just purposeful touches for those who care.
Positioning and Rivals
At around €45,000, the Mokka GSE sits above average compact EVs but under high-end sporty crossovers. It mirrors the Vauxhall/Peugeot GTI siblings with 280 hp and rally hardware. It doesn’t pretend to be a luxury EV—it targets drivers who want grip, pace, and everyday EH fun without splurging. In markets pushing EV adoption, it's a rare compact crossover that genuinely connects with drivers.
