2026 Nissan Z Heritage Edition
By Lorenzo Bianchi September 10, 2025
Retro look: Midnight Purple paint, bronze graphics, and Twin Turbo branding recall the 1990s 300ZX.
Same performance: Twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 400 horsepower and choice of manual or automatic transmission.
Edition details: Bronze Rays wheels, carbon-fiber spoiler, and Heritage Edition badging inside and out.
A Throwback in Modern Form
The Nissan Z has always leaned heavily on its heritage, and the 2026 Heritage Edition makes that link explicit. This model takes cues from the Z32 300ZX, the fourth generation of the Z-car that defined the 1990s era of Japanese sports coupes.
The headline is the return of Midnight Purple, a color etched into memory by the Skyline GT-R but equally suited to the Z’s curves. It’s paired with bronze “Twin Turbo” graphics stretched along the doors — the sort of bold decal that was standard fare three decades ago but now reads as a nostalgic statement piece.
Finishing the exterior are 19-inch bronze Rays wheels and a carbon-fiber rear spoiler with Twin Turbo badging. The details are deliberate, and together they mark the Heritage Edition out as a design-driven special rather than a mechanical one.
Powertrain: Familiar but Capable
Underneath the retro skin, the Heritage Edition is mechanically identical to the Performance trim of the Nissan Z. Power comes from the 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6, producing 400 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.
It remains rear-wheel drive, equipped with a mechanical limited-slip differential. Buyers can still choose between a six-speed manual gearbox or a nine-speed automatic. Performance metrics are unchanged, but the combination has already proven itself as a balanced package in the regular Z Performance.
Cabin and Heritage Details
Inside, the changes are restrained but purposeful. The door sills and floor mats wear “Heritage Edition” branding, underlining the model’s special status. Otherwise, the cabin carries over all the Performance trim amenities.
That includes heated leather seats, heated side mirrors, and a Bose eight-speaker audio system integrated into a nine-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It’s a reminder that while the exterior celebrates the 1990s, the interior is fully modern in features and usability.
