A Last Tribute to the R400 Heritage

With just 400 units to be produced, Nissan has unveiled the 2026 Skyline 400R Limited, a limited-edition farewell to its legendary sports sedan. Announced on October 27, the model serves as both a refinement and a tribute — blending the performance DNA of the Skyline lineage with bespoke craftsmanship reserved for enthusiasts.

The 400R Limited, the last model of this generation of the Skyline, will go on sale on November 13 and deliveries are expected to start in December 2025.

Heritage and Design

As a high-end sport sedan, the 2026 Skyline upholds the nameplate that has represented Japanese automotive excellence since 1957. For this edition, Nissan introduces a striking new color: Wangan Blue — a hue previously exclusive to the brand’s top-tier sports models. The color changes character depending on the light, echoing the Skyline’s dual personality as both a grand tourer and a driver’s car.

Beyond the finish, subtle visual distinctions set the Limited apart. It receives carbon fiber door mirror covers and a rear spoiler, as well as a “Limited” trunk badge that identifies it at a glance. Inside, a serialized plaque and carbon-finish console trim reinforce its collector status.

Performance and Handling

Under the hood remains the familiar VR30DDTT twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6, producing 400 horsepower through a 7-speed automatic transmission driving the rear wheels.

However, Nissan has gone beyond simple cosmetics. Wider 19-inch alloy wheels with DUNLOP SP SPORT MAXX GT 600 tires are among the recalibrated dynamics that the 400R Limited enjoys. Flatter, more assured cornering is the result of a 44% stiffer rear stabilizer bar, a 4% increase in front spring stiffness, and a +0.5J and +1.0J growth in the front and rear wheels, respectively.

Attention is also paid to braking performance, with high fade-resistant pads that are made to provide steady stopping force in extended hot conditions. This is a minor but significant improvement for aggressive driving.

Features and the Interior

Instead of reinvention, the interior emphasizes refinement. A carbon-finished center console and a serial-numbered plate that is exclusive to each of the 400 units add exclusivity to the design, which is still essentially the same. These details, Nissan notes, serve as a gesture of gratitude to Skyline loyalists who have supported the model through generations.

Pricing and Availability

The 2026 Nissan Skyline 400R Limited is priced at 6,935,500 yen, positioned above the standard 400R’s 6,495,500 yen tag. Each unit will be handled through Nissan Motorsports & Customizing (NMC) and registered as a specialty vehicle.
