2026 Nissan Project NAT2 SCCA Touring 2 Z

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • The 2026 Nissan Project NAT2 SCCA Touring 2 Z was developed by the Nissan Acceleration Team, a volunteer group of Nissan employees involved in motorsport.

  • Built to SCCA Touring 2 specifications, the race car receives engine, suspension and braking upgrades using NISMO and aftermarket components.

  • The cabin has been stripped for competition use and fitted with a roll cage and additional safety equipment. The car will appear at the 2026 SEMA Show.

Nissan Project NAT2 Z Brings Motorsport to SEMA 2026

Nissan has revealed the 2026 Nissan Project NAT2 SCCA Touring 2 Z, a race-prepared sports car developed internally by a group of employees who participate in motorsport outside their regular engineering work.

The project will be displayed at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, alongside the Sentra Spec-V Concept and a modified Datsun S30.

Unlike the other two builds, Project NAT2 concentrates on preparing the modern Nissan Z for Sports Car Club of America competition.

Nissan Z Exterior Prepared for Competition

The Project NAT2 retains the Nissan Z as its underlying vehicle, with its development centred on meeting SCCA Touring 2 specifications.

Nissan describes the build as a purpose-built race car rather than a road-going performance edition.

Suspension and Braking Upgrades

The Nissan Acceleration Team has modified the Z's suspension and braking systems using a combination of NISMO and aftermarket components.

These upgrades form part of the conversion from a road car into a vehicle prepared for SCCA Touring 2 competition.

Wheel designs, tire dimensions and suspension settings are also not confirmed.

The modifications distinguish Project NAT2 from the Sentra Spec-V Concept, which uses explicitly identified NISMO coilovers and GT-R-derived braking components.

Stripped Interior With Roll Cage

Inside, the Nissan Z receives a more substantial transformation.

The passenger compartment has been stripped and fitted with a roll cage and other competition safety equipment.

This approach separates the NAT2 project from the road-oriented Nissan concepts appearing at SEMA.

Engine Modifications for SCCA Touring 2

Nissan confirms that Project NAT2 includes engine upgrades using NISMO and aftermarket parts.

Transmission specifications and performance measurements are also absent from the supplied announcement.

The emphasis is on the vehicle's SCCA Touring 2 preparation rather than a published horsepower target.

SEMA Display and Production Status

Project NAT2 was developed by the Nissan Acceleration Team, an all-volunteer employee group pursuing motorsport in its spare time.

The race car will be displayed at booth 21521 in Central Hall at the Las Vegas Convention Center from November 3–6, 2026.

Nissan confirms that the concept is not available for purchase.

The company nevertheless uses projects such as NAT2 to explore performance modifications and gather feedback from automotive enthusiasts.
