Nissan unveiled the third-generation Leaf in Copenhagen, where it showcased a sleeker, lower, and more crossover-like stance. The new Leaf sits lower and wider, designed at Nissan’s Global Design Studio in Atsugi, Japan, but assembled at the Sunderland plant in the UK — the same facility that builds the Juke and Qashqai. The dashboard houses twin 14.3-inch displays — one for the instrument cluster, another for infotainment — both powered by NissanConnect with Google built-in. Cargo space is 437 liters, which puts it comfortably within family-friendly territory, and Nissan’s usual attention to storage detail remains intact.

Two battery sizes will be offered: 52 kWh and 75 kWh. The larger pack delivers a WLTP-estimated 386 miles on a single charge, or about 269 miles at motorway speeds — impressive for a compact EV. Fast charging at 150 kW DC can add up to 273 miles in 30 minutes

It’s also Vehicle-to-Load capable, offering 3.1 kW to power small appliances or gear on the go — a feature outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate.

The top model produces 215 hp and 355 Nm of torque, sending the Leaf to 62 mph in 7.6 seconds. Built on the CMF-EV platform, it shares its architecture with the Ariya, giving it a balance between refinement and agility. The suspension setup — MacPherson struts up front, multi-link rear — keeps things planted and quiet on the move.

Quietly Confident in a Noisy Segment
