2026 Mitsubishi Delica Mini
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 26, 2025
Newly revealed 2026 Delica Mini receives ruggedly reimagined bodywork, rugged front fascia, U-shaped LED headlights, and a more upright windshield—retains compact kei-car dimensions.
Interior upgrades include a 12.3‑inch infotainment screen with Google OS, full digital instrument display, drive mode selector with gravel/snow, and increased passenger comfort.
Powertrain options continue with 658cc naturally aspirated and turbo engines, CVT-only transmission, front- and optional AWD—electric or e-POWER unit remains unconfirmed.
Exterior Evolution with Tougher Presence
Mitsubishi’s all-new 2026 Delica Mini wears significantly revised body panels. The front fascia gains a thicker, tougher-look grille framed by larger Defender-style semicircular LED headlights. Dynamic Shield design elements on the bumper, stronger skid-plate forms, and more sculpted side doors suggest rugged capability. The windshield has been moved forward by 115 mm, giving a more upright stance, aligned with its SUV-like ambition. The rear features smoked LED tail lamps and a flat, modern rear bumper. Despite the changes, length remains at 3,395 mm, adhering to kei-car dimensions. New single-tone and two-tone color palettes include Sand Beige Pearl, Denim Blue Pearl, and Ash Green Metallic.
Interior Enhancements and Cabin Tech
Inside, the Delica Mini advances notably. A full digital 7‑inch instrument display sits next to a 12.3‑inch infotainment screen running Google‑based software. The dash incorporates larger storage cubbies, intuitive touch-panel controls, and a two-spoke steering wheel. Rear comfort benefits from features like a rear circulator fan, sliding rear seats with improved knee space, and flat floor architecture offering better standing headroom. Heated seats and accessible, multi-position layout reinforce its practical intent.
Powertrain Options and Drive Modes
Mitsubishi has yet to confirm any full-electric or e-POWER versions for this iteration. Known options mirror the outgoing model:
658cc 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine making around 51 PS and 60 Nm.
Turbocharged 658cc engine rated around 63 PS and 100 Nm.
Both pair exclusively with a CVT automatic, and come with a choice of front-wheel drive or full-time all-wheel drive. A drive-mode selector adds Power, Normal, Eco, Gravel, and Snow modes, enhancing adaptability for variable conditions.
Platform Identity and Kei-Car Positioning
Built by NMKV, the Delica Mini substitutes the outgoing eK X Space and continues Mitsubishi’s stake in the kei super-height wagon segment. It is assembled in Kurashiki, Okayama, under the same production family as its Nissan Roox counterpart. Despite its tough-enough presence, the Delica Mini adheres to kei-class constraints while delivering above-average interior flexibility and convenience. It earned the 2023–2024 Japan Car of the Year Design Award, highlighting its fresh but functional styling.
Mitsubishi began accepting reservations for the new-generation Delica Mini on 22 August 2025, with official sale beginning in autumn 2025. Pricing is expected to rise modestly from the predecessor’s ¥1.95–2.95 million range, with entry-level likely starting above ¥2 million and top trims reaching near ¥2.5 million. A fully electrified model, if offered, will likely carry higher premium.
