The 2026 MINI Cooper Oxford Edition celebrates 25 years since the first modern MINI rolled out of Plant Oxford, the factory that has become the heart of the brand under BMW ownership. Instead of introducing new performance upgrades or a fresh body style, MINI has chosen to mark the occasion with a model that leans into its heritage through carefully considered design details.
Oxford has always meant more than just another manufacturing site. It's where the original Mini was built in 1959 and where today's MINI continues to take shape. That connection is woven throughout this limited edition without becoming overly nostalgic.
British character is built into the design
The first thing most people will notice is the roof. MINI has applied a modern interpretation of the Union Jack across the white contrast roof, while a red-and-white stripe continues over the body, visually linking the entire car from front to rear. It's a simple idea, but it gives the Oxford Edition its own identity.
Three paint colours are available: Chili Red, Indigo Sunset Blue and Blazing Blue. White mirror caps complete the look, while new 18-inch Slide Spoke two-tone alloy wheels add a more purposeful stance. Even the wheel hubs and valve caps receive edition-specific finishes, showing how much attention MINI has given to the smaller details.
Heritage continues inside
Open the door and the theme carries through without overwhelming the cabin. A textured Union Jack graphic appears on the lower spoke of the steering wheel, while the driver's floor mat features a circular version of the flag. On the passenger side, MINI swaps that for a chequered flag pattern, quietly referencing the brand's long motorsport history.
Special door sill plates celebrating 25 years of modern MINI are another reminder that this isn't just another trim package. It's an anniversary model designed to acknowledge where the brand has come from.
Familiar mechanical package
The changes are almost entirely visual. Buyers will still be able to choose between the MINI Cooper C and MINI Cooper S, meaning the Oxford Edition keeps the familiar driving character of the standard three-door hatchback. MINI hasn't altered the formula underneath, instead letting the exclusive styling become the focus of the edition.
