2026 Mercedes-Maybach S 680 V12 Edition

By Lorenzo Bianchi

  • Powered by a 6.0-liter V12 biturbo engine with 4MATIC all-wheel drive.

  • Stands out with two-tone finish, Maybach grille, and Edition-specific wheels.

  • Rear cabin designed around executive seating, with MBUX displays and Burmester 4D audio.

Exterior Presence

The Maybach badge still carries a certain weight, and this V12 Edition leans into it. The vertical-strut grille dominates the front end, polished in chrome to catch the light. Discreet badging marks it out, but the real drama comes from the paint. Two-tone bodywork has long been a Maybach signature, and here it’s executed with a separation line so crisp it looks drawn with a ruler.

Length and proportion give the car its presence, chrome along the beltline emphasizing just how much metal is stretched between the axles. Wheels unique to this Edition seal the impression — not flashy, but unmistakably special.

Cabin Craft and Technology

Step inside and the Maybach makes its point quietly but convincingly. The digital side is handled by Mercedes’ latest MBUX interface, spanning across a panoramic display, while the tactile experience belongs to hand-stitched leather, polished wood, and bespoke trim combinations.

The rear compartment is where the Edition earns its keep. Deep-reclining executive seats, fold-out tables, and individual climate control zones turn the second row into a rolling lounge. Lighting, insulation, and the Burmester 4D sound system do the rest, creating an environment that isolates passengers from the outside world almost completely.

V12 Powertrain

Under the hood sits a 6.0-liter V12 biturbo — an engine type most brands have left behind. Here it’s paired with a nine-speed automatic and standard 4MATIC all-wheel drive. The numbers aren’t the headline; the sensation is. Effortless acceleration, delivered with refinement rather than drama.

Rear-axle steering makes the long wheelbase easier to thread through city streets, while E-Active Body Control irons out imperfections in the road. Comfort, rather than outright speed, is the benchmark.

This is one of the last of its kind. In a market rushing toward electrification and smaller engines, the S 680 V12 Edition stands apart. It sits well above the S-Class and even AMG-tuned versions, reserved for clients who value continuity and craftsmanship as much as technology. Rivals exist, but few can match the combination of a twelve-cylinder heart and Maybach’s approach to luxury.
