2026 Mercedes-Benz Vito Sport-X
By Lorenzo Bianchi August 13, 2026
The Vito Sport X uses a 190 PS 2.0 litre diesel with 440 Nm and a nine speed automatic transmission.
UK specific styling brings a new bumper and splitter, side skirts, rear spoiler and 19 inch diamond cut wheels.
Five seat L2 and L3 versions offer up to 733 kg of payload, 4.1 m³ of load space and optional 2,500 kg towing capacity.
The 2026 Mercedes Benz Vito Sport X is a new UK only version of the Vito Crew van, and it sits at the top of the range when orders open in September. Based on the existing SELECT trim, it adds a noticeably different exterior, a two seat front layout and more standard equipment. Prices start at £56,995 excluding VAT.
This isn't a new generation of Vito underneath. Instead, Mercedes Benz Vans has concentrated on giving the familiar crew van a more distinctive specification without taking away the load carrying ability that matters in daily use.
A Vito With a Lower Looking Front End
Most of the visual changes are easy to spot. The front bumper has been redesigned around an integrated splitter and revised grille, while side skirts extend the treatment along the body. At the rear sits a body coloured tailgate spoiler. Gloss black mirror caps and door handles, Sport X graphics and badging finish the exterior changes.
The 19 inch diamond cut black alloys use a five twin spoke design. Alpine Grey is standard, although Arctic White and six metallic colours are offered without an additional charge. That includes Sodalite Blue, Obsidian Black, Kalahari Gold, High Tech Silver, Graphite Grey and Hyacinth Red.
Two Sport Seats Replace the Front Bench
There is a bigger change once the door opens. Instead of the three seat front bench fitted to PRO and SELECT versions, Sport X gets two individual seats. They have integrated headrests, reshaped bolsters and debossed Sport X branding.
Black eco leather and dark grey suede cover the front and rear seats, broken up by orange stitching. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard, as are wireless phone charging and centre console storage.
The underlying SELECT equipment remains. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, TEMPMATIC air conditioning, ambient lighting and a reversing camera are included, along with Active Brake Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Active Lane Keeping Assist.
Diesel Power Stays Familiar
Under the bonnet is Mercedes Benz's 2.0 litre four cylinder diesel, producing 190 PS and 440 Nm from 1,350 rpm. It works through the 9G TRONIC nine speed automatic and takes the van from 0 to 62 mph in 10 seconds. Combined economy is quoted at up to 38.7 mpg, with CO₂ emissions of 192 to 193 g/km.
Sport X Still Has a Job to Do
The styling hasn't turned the Vito into a lifestyle van at the expense of its working role. Both L2 and L3 lengths seat four passengers plus the driver. Payload reaches 556 kg in the L2 and 733 kg in the L3, while respective load volumes are 3.6 and 4.1 m³. The rear bench can also be removed when more cargo room is required.
Standard towing capacity is 2,000 kg, with a 2,500 kg option. That mix of passenger space, cargo capacity and a more distinctive appearance is essentially where Sport X fits: above SELECT as the most heavily styled Vito Crew van offered in the UK.
