A Celebration Rooted in Formula 1 History
The 2026 McLaren Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition exists to mark a precise moment in McLaren Racing history. It commemorates the team’s 10th Formula 1 World Constructors’ Championship, secured during the 2025 season, alongside a Drivers’ Championship title won by Lando Norris in the MCL39. Rather than broad celebration, McLaren Automotive has chosen focus. Only ten examples will be built, each curated by McLaren Special Operations as a direct tribute to that championship-winning campaign.
This is not a new variant in the conventional sense. Mechanically, McLaren positions the project as an Artura Spider defined by its narrative, its finish, and the access it grants to McLaren’s competitive legacy.
Championship Livery with Intent
Visually, the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition is distinguished by a hand-painted exterior developed by MSO. The livery combines McLaren Bespoke Myan Orange with Onyx Black, drawing a clear line to the MCL39 Formula 1 car that carried McLaren to the 2025 Constructors’ title.
Key exterior details are deliberate rather than ornamental. Each painted ‘10’ motif incorporates ten stars and the outlines of every McLaren Formula 1 car to have won a Constructors’ Championship. The specification is further sharpened by the Black Pack, Gloss Black 10-spoke Super-Lightweight Dynamo forged wheels, Myan Orange brake calipers with black McLaren branding, the Stealth Badge Pack, and a Sports Exhaust with Stealth finisher. The stance remains unmistakably Artura Spider, but the surface treatment gives it a more ceremonial presence.
Interior Details That Document the Season
The cabin is trimmed in Performance Carbon Black Alcantara and Jet Black Nappa Leather, offset by McLaren Vision Orange piping. Bespoke elements include ‘10’ embroidery on the headrests, a Myan Orange-painted 12 o’clock steering wheel marker with matching ‘10’ detail, and a custom casement plaque on the center console confirming each car’s place in the ten-unit run.
Two features anchor the interior to McLaren Racing directly. The extended satin carbon fiber sill finishers are hand-signed by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. In the luggage compartment, a bespoke Track Record Plaque lists McLaren’s wins, pole positions, and fastest laps from the 2025 Formula 1 season. Each owner also receives a dedicated 2025 Constructors’ Championship collectors’ keepsake.
Positioning Beyond Performance Metrics
McLaren makes no attempt to reposition the Artura Spider mechanically within this release. Rather, the MCL39 Championship Edition is marketed as a physical manifestation of McLaren Racing's achievements and is meant for customers who place equal importance on provenance and performance.
By limiting production to ten pieces and integrating season-specific references throughout the car, McLaren presents the Artura Spider MCL39 Championship Edition as a rolling archive of its 2025 Formula 1 campaign. It is first a commemorative item and then a supercar because it is meant to preserve a championship moment long after the actual season has concluded.
