2026 Maserati MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 Honors A Century
Some special editions are created to mark an anniversary. Others tell a story. The 2026 Maserati MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 manages to do both.
Unveiled in Modena as the 2026 Mille Miglia passed through the city, this one-off creation was commissioned through Maserati's Fuoriserie customization program and built to celebrate a significant milestone for the brand. One hundred years have passed since the Trident logo first appeared on the bonnet of the Tipo 26, the race car driven by Alfieri Maserati at the 1926 Targa Florio. This bespoke MCPURA Cielo serves as a tribute to that moment.
A Design Inspired By Maserati's Earliest Racing Days
The connection to the Tipo 26 is visible almost immediately.
Finished in Grigio Lamiera Matte, the bodywork was chosen to evoke the appearance of raw competition-car panels from the 1920s. Running across that surface is a bespoke livery combining Rosso Capannelle, Blu Infinito, and Bianco Pastello, creating a visual link between Maserati's earliest racing history and its modern super sports car.
Perhaps the most distinctive detail sits on the bonnet itself, where the original Tipo 26 badge has been recreated with historical accuracy. Elsewhere, the historic Trident appears on the front fascia and B-pillars, while the tonneau cover features both the current logo and the original 1926 Trident created by Mario Maserati.
The result feels more like a rolling tribute than a traditional special edition.
Classic References Meet Modern Supercar Proportions
Despite its historic inspiration, the MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 remains unmistakably modern.
The low-slung proportions, open-top configuration, and exposed carbon-fibre details remind viewers that this is still part of Maserati's current flagship performance family. The Exterior Carbon Package introduces visible carbon-fibre elements throughout the body, while diamond-cut 20-inch Cyclonic wheels with red accents add another visual connection to the bespoke livery. Black brake calipers complete the look.
Door badges featuring the signatures of Alfieri Maserati and mechanic Guerino Bertocchi further reinforce the historical theme without overwhelming the design.
Cabin Details Continue The Story
Inside, Maserati has carried the narrative into the cabin rather than limiting it to the exterior.
The Trident logo is stitched into the headrests, while carbon-fibre trim, heated seats, and a Sonus faber High Premium audio system create an environment that balances craftsmanship with modern technology. The specification also includes the Driver Assistance Pack and a front axle lift system, features intended to make the car easier to use beyond special occasions.
A Showcase For The Fuoriserie Program
More than anything, the MCPURA Cielo Tributo 1926 highlights what Maserati's Fuoriserie division can achieve.
Rather than introducing new performance hardware or chasing additional power, this project focuses on storytelling through design, materials, and historical references. Delivered during the Mille Miglia and inspired by the very car that first carried the Trident emblem, it serves as a rolling celebration of Maserati's first century of racing heritage.
